yea, I've put a bit into guns...I think I'm level 6 now, which is the highest skill I have (I think). Just got the mission to go to the museum...totally turned teh boat into a blood bath. :P

It's so hard to pick what to put points into, unfortuanetly. I still go back to using knives against people just to save bullets, since I can take some decent amounts of damage. The oceanside hotel wasn't all that scary, imo...it had a few moments, but the majority of it was just annoying, trying to figure out the right way to go. heheh....some of it was damn cool, like the baby. :p Anyway, I'm droning...good game, I think I'll go back and play it some more.

Anyway...you're playing my character, biotch! I was a gun-toting Toreador too in my first time through.

But good that you're playing this game, it's a must for RPG fans. Great conversations eh? Source engine is pretty cool in that. I was actually thinking of asking 'hey Shiny, you played the game yet?' yesterday, so it's fun that you come and warn us that you started.

You playing at night with headphones on? Adds to the atmosphere, I never played it during the day. I must say that I got the crap scared outta me a few times though, especially at Ocean House Hotel  Eh BJ? ;)

Give us an update when you can...where you're at, what skills you invested in, who's being a little bitch or what was scary/cool. The usual. Oh, btw: if you're going purely with guns, some tips. They are very powerful (especially towards the end), that's not the problem, but you'll have to have a lot of cash to afford plenty of ammo. Not kidding. Melee is TONS cheaper for a char. Oh, and make sure you max out your gun skill a bit. Hitting stuff is still very hard with a sniper at rank 7-8, for example.

And toreador-wise: make good use of your celerity discipline. It's incredibly powerful in combination with guns. In fact, i think it's one of the most powerful combat-mixes in the game.

griffith park man :D

Hehe..i still have nightmares about that. Thought I was safe in the building. lol

@Satis: yeah, use as few fire arms as possible on humans, they're weak kittens compared to other vamps. (who aren't damaged much by most simple fire arms, as you will prolly have noticed yourself from the damage you take from cops ;) ) I love how you feel awesomely powerful cimpared to your average human, too...you can really smack them around.

Ocean Side not scary? :p Well, maybe I get too invloved in games like this. I thought the stuff flying around, chandaliers falling on your head, ghost writings on the wall (get out), shrieks, ghost girls running by and so on was pretty freaking exciting. Especially the kitchen. :o That was very well done, with all those pans, pots and knives flying around. Or the "ghost" fire. As a matter of interest: did you avoid the elevator falling on your head? Just after you leave the kitchen through a vent I mean.

I was crawling through the vent when I heard the girl voice say "be careful", going like "pff, I'm a vampire, so stfu biotch!" and next thing I knew an elevator landed on my head. :P Bleh. Being a powerful regenerating, bullet-swallowing vamp is still cool.

Methinks Satis chose Jeannette Voerman btw. :P What man wouldn't?

yea, I avoided the elevator. I heard the 'be careful', looked up (While still in the event) and saw that damn elevator. Was like 'that stupid thing is going to fall on my head'. Sure enough. :)

Far as the catfight...well, I screwed up and gave Jeanette the medallion or whatever....so, failed that quest. When the confrontation happened, I kinda just instigated... the prim one came out on top, I'm afraid. I was rooting for jeanette, of course. She was cool.

I'm currently in Hollywood. About to redo a section when an old friend shows up. Didn't know how to handle it and ended up losing humanity, violating the masquerade (not sure how the hell that happened, I wasn't doing anything but walking down the street) and pissing off the cops. I actually chased her ass down the central drag, slashing at her with a knife. Left her mutilated corpse in front of the red dot.

lol. Sounds like you allright. I bet you spend all your time at club vesuvius. I know it's plain sad to say this but: Velvet Velour=grr.

Bleh..don't redo stuff like that tho man, losing humanity/masquerade isn't that bad..killing a few cops and going into rage once in a while is fun. ;) Btw, you get a masquerade violation if you fail to convince her that it's not you. Not too strange eh, I would be pretty freaked too if someone presumed dead would be walking down the street. Iirc she goes to the phone telling ppl that she saw you, so well...

As a nosferatu that quest just doesn't exist, btw. lol.

@voerman sisters: couldn't you have guided Jeannette to 'victory'? After all, you should have some skill in manipulating as a Toreador.

I probably could have guided the winner a bit, but I was more interested in instigating. As for the person showing up....

I ended up walking up behing her while she was talking on the phone and draining her blood. Not to death (that would be a humanity loss), but it was enough to keep the masquerade from breaking. heheh.

Anyway, I'm still running around hollywood. I'm broke as hell. I chose the money ways out of two quests instead of intimidating/threatening. As a result I'm like $700 poorer. :( I want that big ass handgun too.

Creative thinking with the girl. :) Samantha, iirc.

Hollywood is cool. Don't tell me you weren't spooked once during the snuff movie quest. :P I'll save my anecdote for when you tell me if you played it or not, or i'll go spoiling again.

Handgun = colt anaconda right? If so, yeah...you'll be using that one up till the end of the game, awesome weapon. Very precise and good damage output at both short and long range. Meh, not being able to blabber about the other guns sucks.

And you actually PAID to get out of quests? Omg...roleplaying is fine, but you know :P Gotta make some cash too.

sheesh, fine, I'll stop paying. I just felt bad threatening that script writer into handing over his manuscript. Speaking of which, that guy on the beach the one you wusses couldn't kill because he was so pathetic? Freakin' pussies. 12-gauge shotgun blast to the back, baby!

Anyway, I haven't done any snuff film quest yet, so shush.

I'm in the graveyard now. Got a caretaker some female companionship.

Man, you've got such a freaky way of dealing with ppl. You don't want to intimidate the writer (who's a total sissie), even give him cash (!), but you shove a shotgun right up the ass of the most pathetic character i've seen in a long time?! :? lol Come to think of it, you might just be roleplaying well. Upholding the masquerade and everything.

k@ snuff...lemme know when you've done it. Graveyard quest: is FREAKING hard if you decide to 'hold the fort' while he sneaks out for some booty. Good idea on getting the girl to him instead.

lol, I'm glad I bought him the chick.

Anyway...I'm doing 2 quests...the snuff film go-to-the-house part and the chinese theatre. Haven't tried the house yet, but the theatre's kicked my ass several times already.

I'm thinking I might do the house first, then use the XP to level my melee some so I can kick that dude's ass. :P

I talked to Strauss...he wasn't very willing to help me. Becuase I"m not in his clan, I think. I'm in the snuff house fighting the guy in the basement...only tried once so far and nearly ganked him before getting pummeled. I'll try again tonight and I know I'll win.

Following that, back to the chinese theatre. :/

/me mocks Satis for being a melee wuss. I just talked my way through that quest, worked like a charm. Aren't you investing in your persuasive skills a bit?

Well, about the villa: it fucking freaked me out. Not the setting as such (even tho it was very cool and gross), but this one thing:

I was walking around the house, and in front of a closed door I use my auspex discipline (see aura's thru walls, enance sight) and see something behind the door. Me decideds to go for stealth approach, crawl towards door, and when i'm 20 cms of WAAAA the damn door blows out of its hinges and the thing jumps on my neck....it was hell. Don't tell me you weren't spooked once in this quest. :P Oh, and what you see is just the beginning, I hope you brought enough ammo. :P Mwuahaha.

Strauss is ok, but you can only win his trust if you're a tremere or a very persuasive character. (so usually a Toreador or a Ventrue)
