 Graphics Card Problem? Oh dear...
l0Lz0rz.
If only you could see whats happening to my laptop LCD monitor right now as i type this message. Its almost as if all of the colours are moving and swirling around. I can see the start bar and top menu bars (primarily blue) shifting and flowing to the right with some weird kinda shading.
If i minimise the browser window and look at the desktop i can see my Ripple wallpaper flicker and shimmer. Its quite a sight i assure you.
I tried pressing Print Screen and pasting into Paint (to show you guys the laughter) but no luck. It gets pasted as the original (non-fucked) version.
This is indefinately a hardware problem. But is it the GPU or the monitor? *sigh* it looks like my precious powerhouse laptop is showing signs of being close to death. Bah, well see what happens. Ill give it a restart and hope for the best.
No, i am not taking any drugs!
{EDIT}
Ok. Restarting it does nothing.
Ill try and change back from the Longhorn theme to classic now...
{EDIT}
Bugger.

Man, that sucks....hope you have some cash lying around to replace that bugger. Or even better, that it turns out those mushrooms you ate were magical after all and that there's nothing wrong with your hardware.

first...replacing laptop gpu...not gonna happen. 99% chance it's integrated into the motherboard, so you're screwed. If not, maybe you could, but laptops are a bitch to work in. Everything so small and compressed.
Far as your issue...sounds like an LCD problem to me. If it was the GPU, the screenshot should've picked it up, if i'm not mistaken.

But if it was an LCD problem, then it would still display simular random crap on the print screen, instead of it coming out normal... i'm confused again.

no, if it was the LCD, it wouldn't display random crap on the screenshot. The screenshot picks up what the graphics card is pushing to the monitor, NOT what the monitor is actually displaying. There's no way software could display what the monitor is actualy displaying.
It'd be akin to screwing with the height/width of a CRT screen...squish a screen to have the size of a monitor, using the monitor controls, and take a screenshot. The screenshot will display normal.
Bleh, anyway, I vote LCD issue. Fits LCD problems anyway...try running your finger across an LCD (lightly)...you'll see a rainbow discoloration following the pressure, which is what it sounds like is being described as the symptoms (minues the finger).

Ive noticed its kind of an on and off thing. When i start typing it usually starts, but when i stopped it went away. I thought it was a heat issue but now the machines nice n cool.

Do you think the fact that I installed Longhorn Transormation Pack has anything to do with it?

Ok. After uninstalling the driver and unsuccessfully solving the problem, i got desperate. I googled the symptoms... lo and behold! My graphics card has packed it. A guy had a similar "green line" problem and the guys on that forum said that the graphics card had been "toasted".
So, in conclusion...

Dude, put spaces in. Don't screw the page up.
And satis, what I meant was, if you screen is fucked, (lcd) then no matter what you do, on that particular screen, the print screen is gunna be fucked.

naw, tftp, lcd, same shit (at least as far as I'm concerned).
err...Mole....not following. If you're saying, if the LCD is fucked, tehn anything you see on the LCD is fucked...well...yea. But you can't take a screenshot of the 'fuckedness', post it on the internet, and expect other people to see what you're seeing.
monkey balls! They smell like monkey balls!
anyway...anyone know what stage of screen rendering a screenshot is taken at?

Yeah, with you now. I never saw a screen shot from derf, and so I assumed he was looking at it on his own broken screen.
