mm..why didn't i notice this?
actually, that so called gangrel advantage is pretty useless, i never went into rage once.
in fact the only time i've ever ran totally out of bllod was with my malk chick, (SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun!!! forget all other clans, this game is FAR more entertaining playing a malk! the dementation in convo's ownz all, the CRAZY convo's, plus the 5* in the invisibility. but the best bit? the argument with the stop sign near strauss's place. pure comedy genius ) and she never even went inro rage then.

lol, I heard a lot about the stop sign convo...a mate of mine told me about the conversation with the TV, too. Sounds priceless. I'm re-installing and playing als a Malk, fuck it. You recommend putting points in dementation then, aye?
Sucks about the rage...I never had it happen to me either, but I played two clans which had it easy to obtain blood (charm or 1337 stealth ) so I didn't know how much of a problem it was/wasn't...ah well.
You digging the Malk outfits btw?

yeah, loving those outfits shame that the schoolgirl one is first though.
yeah, dementaion is pretty good, haven't gone higher than vision of death at the moment though, i'm still in holywood at the moment, maxed out obfusicate, however the hell you spell it. i get a feeling that to use dementation in convo's it pays to get a few ranks in dement, could be wrong.
***RANT ALERT****
haven't played it for a while, due to having my geforce 4 fitted, since my ati card died. great aye, less than a year
bah.

Sucks. What happened to it, overheated or just plain died?
I've started a new game then like I said, played a while but because of the constant minor 'lagging' in the large areas (in combination with having played it a few times already ) my interest is lesser than before...but I'm still liking it and will finish it, obviously. I only wish they patched it and seriously tweaked the engine....it doesn't look as good as HL2 yet I can't play it completely smoothly while HL2 isn't a problem. Strange, that.
Anyhoo...went with melee this time (as opposed to fire-arms and unarmed before) and I'm surprised how effective it is. I'm already doing good damage with a knife and barely any skills in melee. I'm planning on maxing out dementation for the heck of it, and inspection/haggle...should make me rich, in combination with cheap blades and such. (no reload)
Another thing; the nice font Malkavians get only displays in higher resolutions...in the lowest it's just the ordinary font. But the convo's are already awesome.
Some pics.

and more, about the seeer on the beach...can you place everything she says? I dare you! I'm stuck on the "it's if you bought it" sentence, btw...does she mean 'if you let yourself be fooled?' or really, physically bought it? *confusefd*

actually, glad you brought up that convo, wanted to discuss the points.
heh..the bought it line is a reference to warez, doesn't really mean anything
those lines..
*********spoilers**************
he's not who he says she is and its going to burn (nines at grouts mansion?)
when you ask who you can trust..the man on the couch is strauss right? but is the lone wolf jack or beckett cos malk's refer to beckett as the lone wolf
i always go melee actually, melee is cool for feeding but blades own vamps, esp katanas and the fireaxe.
couple of grips though, guns very expensive to buy but have a lousy sell back, even with 3 ranks in haggle plus, even on my machine, at 1024 x 768 theres a bit of lag (max detail), the cut scenes being the worst. like you say, why does HL2 run shit hot but this is murder?
ermm..not sure about the card, just know that any 3D app, either crash to desk top, or the macnine freezes up. reeks of graphics card to me, and when i changed to this old crappy card its back to normal. can't return it due to bios flash learnt my lesson there, getting a 6800GT, at least all 16 pipes are already there, plus it generally stomps on the x800 pro anyway. wife isn't to happy about the money but hell, i'm the player and she's the bitch
(hopes she never reads that...)

hehe...she's so gonna kick your ass.
As for the references....LOL@ the warez thing...never thought of it, but now you mention it.
*SPOILERS*
About the other references:
-'The crimson ship': the Elizabeth Dane? Why crimson? Because of the massacred crew and the ton of blood on it?
-'he's not who he says...': Good call...I was breaking my head over it but yeah, it has to be 'Nines'
-'dinosaurs': natural history museum, I guess
-'he's furious...the man with the crest': Lacroix? Or is Strauss the man with the crest? He's certainly not furious.
-'the voice in the darkness, boss': dear Gary, of course.
-'Chinese brothers':easy
-'follow the lights to the end of the tunnel': not sure...the Nosferatu barrens?
-'where do you want to go?': the choice you have to make in allegiance?
The 'man on the couch' that you can trust is Mercurio, I believe. When you first speak to the seeer on the beach Mercurio is always on the couch. Cfr. my first pic in the previous post(s). And yeah, Beckett is the lone wolf. She's right, btw. They are the only ones that don't screw you over in one way or another, with the possible exception of Nines. (who, at his turn, is a puppet on Jack's string)
@weapons of choice...have you ever done a stealth kill with the fire axe? not much stealth about it, hehehe...(stealth killing rules)

hehe, yeah, that rules, like you say, not much stealth but funny as hell. haven't done one with a katana, gonna have to do one to see what it looks like.
***********spoilers********************
good call about mercurio, forgot all about him.
after a lot of thought,i think strauss is 'the man with the crest' because of the mystic sun. kind of a crest i guess..
he's furious ..: nines again? that convo in the last round when he bears his teeth when you ask above meeting with the cammies?
yeah, the crimson ship part must be that, i think you're right with the warrens also, but hell of a lot of tunnels in this game
plot: as you know, playig malk this time, was gonna go cammie but its amazing how siding with the anarchs just makes so much SENSE. lacroix..pft...and strauss, although if you play tremere it makes more sense doesn't help you out a great deal, like you say, nines is the only straight up kinda guy in the game, what vampire would want to have his strings pulled by the camarilla and get pushed around? very difficult to play towards every over ending, kinda sticks in my throat

*SPOILER*
I hear ya on the not-choosing anarchs...when i sided with the Kue-Jin i had to twist my arm completely, but I dare say not as much as when I'd be working for Lacroix. (after all, the Kue-Jin are fairly nice to you through the game, apart from the insults and the impersonating Nines scheme )The ending was...less agreeable, however. lol.

yeah, heard that its a 'wet' ending. that must have been frustrating
When you go to china town, and she basically insults you and tries to piss on the kindred legends, etc, the malk insight gives you the chance to piss on some of hers, as well as calling her 'the mistress of mirrors'. she not like that
by the way, you can also address VV by her real name of 'susan'. she not like that either.

Dunno if this will affect anything (look upcoming patches etc.) but i just read the Trojka, the developper of this game, is out of business. They're already selling all their office furniture, so it seems game over for them ...

Crap. I really like the games they made (Arcanum, Bloodlines). So much for another good RPG house.

I started playing this game finally. Pretty cool, and quite expansive. I ended up answering questions as to what to be, since I didn't really know wtf I was doing. Ended up as a Toreador with some handgun skills and shiat. Not really sure where I'm going with my skills...still learning at this point. I think I just recently poured all my xp into the stealth attribute (whatever that is, I forget). Bleh...anyway, once I get the attachment mod running again, I'll throw up some screenshots.
Oh, yea, playing at 1024x768 with everything maxed out....plays quite smooth.

*kicks*
Anyway...you're playing my character, biotch! I was a gun-toting Toreador too in my first time through.
But good that you're playing this game, it's a must for RPG fans. Great conversations eh? Source engine is pretty cool in that. I was actually thinking of asking 'hey Shiny, you played the game yet?' yesterday, so it's fun that you come and warn us that you started.
You playing at night with headphones on? Adds to the atmosphere, I never played it during the day. I must say that I got the crap scared outta me a few times though, especially at Ocean House Hotel Eh BJ?
Give us an update when you can...where you're at, what skills you invested in, who's being a little bitch or what was scary/cool. The usual. Oh, btw: if you're going purely with guns, some tips. They are very powerful (especially towards the end), that's not the problem, but you'll have to have a lot of cash to afford plenty of ammo. Not kidding. Melee is TONS cheaper for a char. Oh, and make sure you max out your gun skill a bit. Hitting stuff is still very hard with a sniper at rank 7-8, for example.
And toreador-wise: make good use of your celerity discipline. It's incredibly powerful in combination with guns. In fact, i think it's one of the most powerful combat-mixes in the game.
