hehe...I will leave the sex-slave thing untouched (after all, my basement has no need for competition), but I agree strongly on the city thing. When I get a bastard city from the enemy that keeps uprising I want to burn it to the ground, not protect their bastard civilians. The TBS-aspect should be like in Alpha Centauri (still one of the best TBS games around, despite its antiquated graphics), but obviously less hi-tech. It's a lost chance, but bleh. Maybe the loss of the 'real' cities during the game would take away the historic attractiveness in the makers' eyes, dunno. Then again, it's not like 'domus dulcis domus' was a real city anyway. (it's Latin for 'home sweet home', in case you didn't know)
Btw, wtf@ salting Carthage, since when do you know ancient history?
@ derf...what's so bad about NWN? it's a great game, and with HotU it's an AWESOME game. One of the best expansions I've ever seen.

lol, bastard, since when do I seem uncultured to you. Besides,I took lating for a semester in 10th grade. :p I read the Aeneid in latin. Tell me someone else that's done that. Granted, it was a simplified version of the Aeneid, but the Aeneid none-the-less.
I hate my job.

Hehehe...I didn't know you took Latin. Coolness. I did Latin-languages in highschool, for six years in a row. Tbh I don't remember that much of everything I learned, but part of it was learning Roman history (which was pretty neat), and of course we read a lot of works in Latin. (among which the Aeneid btw, hehe) It's cool to see how they can keep on par with most modern stories in terms of inventiveness etc. Not too much has changed. I'm derailing some more but bleh, it's 'Roman' talk so whatever: I liked the Aeneid a lot, for the style figures and whatnot. There's one passage where Virgil recites about Aeneas and Dido sitting in a cave, seeking refuge from the rain. In the text he puts the names Aeneas and Dido central; with the words describing the act of 'sitting in a cave' spun around their names, so it seems like the cave spans over them in both the story and the style. Brilliant stuff. And yes, that was very nerdish.

I'm still busy with it. It's getting quite popular isn't it
Anyway, perhaps you get the eagle-thing if you wipe out one of those eagle-standard units (forgot the name ). After all, these Roman cohorts have eagles and from what I can remember the Romans valued this eagle banner more than their own lives and... Never mind.

Hehe...sounds logical. They started attacking the city like mad once I had the thing.
I downloaded it, but I have yet to find my RTW cd DVD to reinstall everything on my new HD. And finish off the historical battles. My guess is that they tweaked the cataphracts though.

I'm still playing my Germanic tribes. I've taken Rome and a couple other cities...lost several generals, got some more infected with plague. I must be close to the end game. I've annihilated brutii army after brutii army. They must be running low on men. But anyway, after I finish this game I think I'll restart with Egypt.

I have a special trick for brutii, whenever i notice a small band of brutii soldiers, say a group of 5 i just buy them Good reinforcments for my cities. Too bad gauls are stupid as treetrunks, cant persuade them to join my faction, is it even possible to bribe an enemy family member?

I would assume so, since you get mods that make it more or less expensive to have your own family members bribed.
Actually, I know you can...I hald an army of mine sell out to the gauls, those bastards. Had 3 of my generals in it, no less. Pricks. I hope they burn in hades.

You can use assassins to bump off enemy assassins.
Yes, you can bribe enemy family members but not the Leader. I remember bribing Greek and Egyptian heirs for about 1-3k a pop.

Yep, I bribe them all the time...I had entire Egyptian bloodlines running through my seleceud empire family. You can bribe cities too Peltz, but that tends to be expensive. You'd best have troops to move in as police immedeately too, or they'll riot out of control again in two turns.
Satis playing Egypt? I lost most of my appetite for them after several extremely frustrating games AGAINST them. But their archers are the best in the game, which counts for something.
Re-installing RTW at this very moment.

Good for you.
I agree with that about the Archers. They have 1 crap unit, but theres loads of em and one 1337 unit. The Phaeroe (sp!!!) guard.
