W00t, three people who're done, we almost get to spew around conspiracy theories! Come on Bj, surely your job can't be as important as my personal wellbeing...finish it! hehe
I agree about the ending...tbh, I was a tad surprised it was over, but the more I thought back of it the more awesome it was. I'll shut up now. I've replayed it a few times even, for clues. And was it just me or did everyone have serious problems with one particular fight in Nova Prospekt? Where you have to keep hordes of combine at bay in a prison cell area, with three stationary guns. It's not Far Cry (lol) but still. Oh, and the storming of Nova Prospekt with the pack of ant lions= brilliant, brilliant. lol@gravity gun...oh yes.

lol, i'll try and get on again tonight, i'm fairly sure i'm at the end of the level (alleyway full of crap, and the walls fall on your head) much further to go?
those stationary guns could be a right pain in the arse but...
SPOILER WARNING
that first 'super antlion' was a pain in the ass, took about 4 goes. later on its not much of a challange but running in a circle trying to get out of its way before it butts you with normal antlions popping up...that was fairly tough.

Nova Prospekt: i didn't have serious problems but it was quite hard, once you get the tactics though it's easy really
'super antlion' fight was easy, you didn't even have to shoot it (the aleind nails it with the machine gun) , all you have to do was dodge and kill the normal antlions....

nova prospekt....very tough. I ended up choosing one of the side cells, setting up all three guns in it, and then providing personal covering fire with my shotgun. Besides screwing up and knocking over two of my own guns, I still beat it with a tiny bit of health left.
Giant ant-lion. Easy. I was carrying along a really long plank and just used it to climb back up the wall a ways. I still had to kill off the flying ant-lions, but between waves of those I'd just tear up the mother. Wasn't even a close call Died the first time I tried just because I wasn't prepared and got backed into a corner.

Haha, that's some nice thinking and shows yet again how great the physics cannon really is. I usually don't get any further than using it to throw stuff at things, but this obviously is a viable solution too. Good work, lol.
I never had much trouble with the giant ant-lions, dunno why. Usually combo of secondary shotgun fire/physics cannon and looking for heavy shit did the job. It's nice that unselected weapons reload in HL2, or is that just my mind playing tricks?
Nova Prospekt: The first time around I'd cornered myself into one of the holding cells (without stationary guns) and that was a baaad and painful idea. the shotguns in HL2 really are shotguns, ie they can blow you freaking away if they hit. In my second time through the game now I did it like this:
put my back unto one of the outside walls, facing the middle inner hallway. Then I had the stationary guns cover the left and right entrances to the hallway. So, I'm covering the space in front of me, the guns to the right and left and my back to the wall. Switching between machine gun and physics cannon, too, mainly to pick up nades they throw at my guns (and me) and throw them back, cos they have a tendency to knock them over badly as you know. Also used it to pick up the guns and reposition them if they did go down, hehe. And in the end when things started to get really dramatic I picked up the last stationary gun, carried it in front of me with the GG, shooting bastards from wherever they came. That put new meaning in the word 'stationary gun'. I also carried it around for a while longer after that, always handy.
Did I mention I love the GG?

Haha, that would be totally powerful. I'd never drop them. Well, maybe I'll have to because they don't always fit in every hallway. What's your status BJ?

k..and I'll try and make a screen of me showing around the gun sometime. I'd like to think that I'm the first one to use this technique but I'm pretty sure that's a delusional ideal.

what names you play under, i'm -=Fran=- if you ever se me around, i've been nailing it this weekend a lot. Starting to actually get more kills than deaths

Played on medium...re-playing it on medium. I might re-replay it on hard after that, and wait till the first mods get completed. And yeah, opposing force was pretty hard. But a class expansion nonetheless.
I've been playing CS:source a lot in the past month but not in the past week or something. Reason is something strange happened...I'm a good player, if I may say so myself...I'm a Deagle adept and seriously own it and have owned about all the time I played, but something changed. I don't know what it is exactly, but when I get into rumbles I lag slightly. My ping is the same as before, server I play on is the same and graphics settings haven't changed. But because of that minor lag I am propelled into 1337 suckage. With 7 bullets a clip you gotta put down your direct opponents every time, which became very hard by now. Sure, I can still equip an AK and try to spray someone's head off but what I'm really good at is taken away from me. Ah well. I suppose it'll come back, some time. It just sucks to see ppl I own kicking the crap outta me.
On a bright side: Cs: Source has less 12-yr old camper n00bs than the original, in my experience. I do play a lot at night but then still...
P.S. *still holding HL2 theory rambles on hold*

on medium also. standard thing for me, play normal at the start then either tough for a challenge or easy for pure entertainment.

I played medium, am replaying on hard now when I feel like it. I'm back to flying the stupid watercraft. I hate those freakin' levels. At least now that I know what I'm doing, I'm breezing through the levels alot faster, even if it is on hard.
