 Vampire: Bloodlines
Started playing this game some time ago and it's pretty good. It's kinda hard settling down to a normal lvl of games after HL2, but this mostly an RPG so it doesn't really have to 'compare' to HL2.
I only know a few of the bands but I trust some ppl around here know more:
Aerial - "Pound"
Chiasm - "Isolated"
Daniel Ash - "Come Alive"
Darling Violetta - "Smaller God"
Die My Darling - "Needles Eye"
Genitortures - "Lecher Bitch"
Lacuna Coil - "Swamped"
Ministry - "Bloodlines"
Tiamat - "Cain"
Anyway, great atmosphere, cool soundtrack...plus, its vampires. And it's during night-time. Some of my things i like all rolled into one. I'm playing as a female from the Torreador clan, charismatic and intelligent. Yep, no bad-ass bashing dude this time. :p
Take a look at this screenie tho...cracked me up

After watching a demo movie i was left a bit sceptical.
Have you played the previous Vampire Masquerade?

Yeah...but that was much more action-oriented. I did like the fighting in two completely different ages tho, something that isn't in this game. (not up until no anyway). Did you play it?

Yeh i played it. It was ok. I played it a good while after it came out so i didnt get the authentic taste of the game. It was very buggy for some reason, but overall OK.
Would you say that the new one is less action orientatred? What do you mean?

What I said, really. It's much more of an RPG, you can resolve a LOT of things by talking/hacking/sneaking, where the original was more hacking and slashing. Talking is very important too here. Tbh I'm liking this type of game better than the original, but i'm an RPG whore of course. (keep in mind that Troika, the developers, are mainly an RPG creator so it's no wonder they changed the formula)
The graphics are good (source engine eh) but not as good as HL2 itself, hehe. They do make good use of the facial animations here tho...since it's less action-based like I just said there's more taling->more use of the facial animations.
I'll post some screens, don't worry...too lazy right now.

Here's some stuff from the tutorial+beginning game. So I'm sure there's no spoilers
For clarity's sake: there's both first person and thrid person mode, freely switchable at most times. And both with their (dis)advantages.

Some dialogue shots from Jack, the vamp that guides you through the tutorial. You'll notice why bloodlines got an 18+ rating in a sec.

lol....what a dork. That's some corny ass dialogue, no offense.
Other than that, nice graphics. And I love the way your chick is embracing the bum. Lol....you're such a slut.

heh, none taken. I didn't make the game you know. hehe. Just wanted to point out the 18+ rating. Don't see too many fuck's and shit's in most games, even if the blood is literally dripping off the wall.
And you think that's slutty? How about this pic I was gonna spare myself the (recurring) accusations of perversity, but bleh.
