Cool, CoF...good concert? Never seen them live. (maybe they were at some festival I was at some time, but those memories are mostly hazy. Kinda sucky when you paid for entrance. )
Sweet deal on extended weekends. Why don't you just quit and live off Shiny's pay tho? (assuming she has a job atm)

rofl. Shiny, have a job? hahahahaha. Err...anyway, no, she's unemployed.
Yes, the concert was good. It was some sort of Mtv Headbanger's Ball concert thing. They had 2 death metal bands opening (never heard of either, BLEEDING THROUGH and ARCH ENEMY). One of the two had a chick vocalist, was pretty cool. But cradle was the main attraction, obviously. Y'know, that's gotta be the oldest and ugliest death metal band I have ever seen. They're like a really evil version of Kiss or something.

move it to general forum.
Anyway, i wonder from what cartoon book did the devs get their data. I hit a copter with a tank shell, guess who lived and who died.
IMO its ridiculous. A tanks shell by itself is strong enough to penetrate the unarmored huey.
Sheesh, they got about everything correct except the vehicles. And not to mention the super accurate m16? But it figures, since its US product its supposed to be better.

Heh....I hardly think that's got to do with it. Nationalism îs one thing, but nationalism preventing decent and balanced gameplay is a bit far-fetched. And yeah, I liked BF: vietnam for a while, until I realized that you more or less had to fly to really own. There I was with my mobile flak track.

actually, the M16s really are very accurate weapons. In the hands of a skilled shooter *cough*likeme*cough* it can be used as a sniper rifle. I was able to accurately hit something man-sized at 300m. With a bipod and a scope you could probably double that. That's damned accurate.
On the other hand, AK47s are really inaccurate. I'll vouch for that fact, because I have fired one. They're horrible, crappy, cheap rifles. Yay me!

Let's all pause for a moment and ponder what satis would do with an m16.

Wow, I bet Pig used tons of realistic prediction computers to come up with that scenario. Good stuff.

Cant deny the fact that its not a bad AR considering it was made in 1947.

Yeah well satis, if you coulnt hit with m16 at 300m i would officially declare you blind. I hit 8 bullets out 10 at 300m with AK. But i use Galil now, smaller round better accuracy, same reliability. And it was a normal target practicing sheet about 40cmX40cm i think (roughly).
EDIT: We are talking about prone position right? not standing? otherwise ill take my words back

lol, yea, prone or braced in some way, not free standing. I can consistently pop man-sized targets at 300m. I might be able to do it with an AK with some practice. This is using iron sights, of course. hmmm...I was firing at a man-shaped silhouette (man sized roughly, but basically torsa and head only). If you were shooting that well with an AK, though, either you're good with an AK or the one I shot was a piece of shit. It was heavy, hard to aim (sights sucked) and it kicked like a donkey.

Not that I know anything about shooting rifles, but is shooting a fixed target very different from a moving person? (or robot or animal) I would think it's much easier, but I'd also think that firing with the barrel pointed towards me is a good idea.

Its much easier to hit a static target for many reasons. As im sure Satis (Mr.M16) will explain.

well, sure, of course it's easier to hit something that's not moving. If it's moving you have to estimate where it'll be when your bullet hits it. At 300m there's a good half-second of bullet flight time before the bullet actually reaches the target. Well, maybe not a half-second, but it's a noticeable lag.
It like playing an fps with a 300ms ping. :p

So, like when i normally play Day of Defeat?
Oh, can i say something? Operation flashpoint gets the physics of shooting very well. You notice this "lag" very much especially in windy conditions.
I remember trying to pick-off a tank commander with that Scoped US M21 rifle from about 500m, no chance in hell with wind. Except if your first shot is taken as a drift check, but then hes buttoned up before you get to shoot the second shot.
