 screencam type thing
Im in need of a program that records the things you do in windows in a way that you can see the mouse move here and there and folders opeing...
There was once somthing i used that did this called Lotus Screencam. I used to play with it all the time.
Anyone know of anything similar nowadays that can be either saved as MPEG/AVI?
Thanks.

fraps is mainly for games, but yea, I suppose that works too.
Only problem I have with fraps (for video) is that it tends to lag the box real bad. Of course, you kinda gotta expect that when you're already pushing your hardware with the game and then turn on something as memory and disk intensive as a video-capture utility.

Bah, video capture can be idependent on central mech resources. That would trim the things but it is expensive as well.

best way to do transparent video capture is to run your vid-out to another computer and do the capture on that machine. That way it's different hardware. That, of course, requires a second computer. One with a video-in.
