Yeah i noticed. I just had to use a potion of bull's strength to be able to run back to my camp, sell stuff and run back to the dungeon. It was a good thing though, because i kept running in electrical traps (some that couldn't be avoided) and i was running around with an unidentified helm of electrical protection (25 damage) in my backpack. So in the end it wasn't that bad.
Just paid 40000 gold for a belt.
Now i'm not that wealthy anymore. The belt isn't that great either, just the fact you can cast haste each day made me keep it. I'm lvl 8 fighter/lvl 1 barbarian now i think.
*edit* I just found a strange machine in which i can put several things for offensive and defensive powers to create a power stone. Any recommendations?

Yeah, that went fairly smooth actually.
Now i have a problem: wearing my 40000 gold belt that's more a defensive belt (5 soak damage, blabla), or wear my belt +3 strength i just found.
I'm inside a place with a lot of slaads now, and i just ran into some basilisks. Still need to figure out that device to make a power stone though.

oh yeah, the power stone machine...
just remember that you have to put components in to both the offensive AND defensive urns to make one. just stuff in one or the other doesn't work.

Dunno what my offensive effect is, but my defensive effect is stoneskin or something similar, which obviously rules
I would really really appreciate it if i would just find a greataxe +2 at least. If i had over 100k gold i would buy a nice one, but i can barely afford the greataxe +2, haven't bought it yet because i would be totally bankrupt if i buy it
And my AC sucks harder than a Calimshan whore.

I haven't been in Calimshan so i honestly don't know.
Just finished the game, the last fight was pretty obvious what to do indeed, i died in my first try nonetheless, because i miserably failed my will saving throws and got frightened. It took ages before that effect was over, and at that point i was as good as dead. Second time it was easy though.
The good equipment i was looking for came in the end, but really late. While fighting a demon and some people that summoned him (or worshippers dunno) i was lucky to find a special greataxe +2, and even luckier to carry a potion of lore to identify it. Otherwise i wasn't able to hit the guy and might have been stuck at that point.
Found some nice armors too: red dragon armor and some nice armor with good AC that gave me permanent haste. Before that, my Ac was 22/23 i think, when you're fighting adversaries with attack +17 and the like, you really get a beating. Lucky enough i had that belt that gave me haste, otherwise that zombie with his scythe could have posed a problem i couldn't handle.
So i wouldn't despair if i were you ox, the good stuff is there, you only need patience or luck to find it.

trying something different this time, going through the offal campaign again, then onto hotu, playing as a bard, currently 5 bard/2 fighter. great fun! the bard class isn't quite as good as 2nd ed rules but it still kicks ass due to being able to bardsong when fighting and umd. maxing out umd, tumble and perform, for the obvious reasons. its great to be able to use pratically everything you come across.
leather armour +1 with an ac of 21 due to dex, tumble bonuses and items,
dualing rapiers with finesse, just taken cats grace which means +8 to hit both attacks which is better than dealan.
holding my own in fights finally now, but at higher levels with all the magic, really gonna kick ass.

I'm thinking about playing as an assassin, so that would be a bit of rogue first, and then on to assassin probably, unless someone here has a better first suggestion. I don't like the idea of having to depend on a henchman for melee though, a rogue prolly won't survive on his own in battle.

i know, i hate the fact that xp goes to your damn henchman but if you go solo in some battles you'll get torn to shreds. ok, with planning, traps, magic items, etc you can even the odds but that only goes so far. unless your a melee class or cleric, you're dead meat without dealan. you certainly learn to be a sneaky bastard...
before assasin, go 1 level of shadow dancer if you go through with it, then you can hide in plain sight, which would even the odds a bit more.
oh, put a few points into taunt, if it works, -6 to the targets AC.

But wouldn't i suffer an XP-penalty if i become a triple class character? Don't exactly know the rules for that in 3th edition but i think it might do no good. But hiding in plain sight is just supercool of course.

prestige classes don't count as an extra class, so you don't get the xp penalty.
not 100% sure with two prestige classes however.
the trouble is bioware have never made it clear WHEN you are suffering the penalty. a nice warning popping up or an actual statement 'suffering penalty ' come up on your charecter sheet would have been nice.

Lol, first thing i hear about this too.
Anyway i just created me a little female halfling rogue, started the prelude. The big disadvantage is that i need 8 points or so in some things like hide, so it will take me some levels to get there. Sneak attack is nice though, the fact that i only know that my "hide" failed is when the enemy charges me is not nice.
I was a bit worried that i would suck in melee with my poor Str, but i forgot that feat that allows you to use your Dex modifier instead of Str with light weapons. So now my attack bonus is +6 instead of +1.
Even better is that i'm playing evil now and that those nurses give good experience.
I'm already having troubles deciding if i make a rogue/shadowdancer/assassin or a rogue/assassin or a rogue/shadowdancer AND if i pick one what lvl should i make these classes .. . Shadowdancer i might only take that one lvl to be able to hide in plain sight, assassin gets some nice things when becoming higher lvl, but i like the cripling strike at lvl 10 from the rogue as well. And since i don't have HotU, i only get less then 20 lvl's to divide.
