serious? Whackin' it is normal in the US. Not something you'd have a polite conversation about, certainly. Still, masturbation is fairly socially acceptable.

Okay, then i did understand it right, i thought it was like "forced to" .. and NO it's nothing like that at all. I just don't get how you go from 'socially acceptable and normal in the US' to 'compulsory in belgium'.
anyway, people showing boobs, making porntapes, .. to get succes and fame: Let the beast go

What's David Palmer?
It's more or less acceptable to talk openly about masturbation with friends, i know i do. Not all of them are as keen to talk about it, but in the end most do.
I gotta watch out when i'm talking with groups of ppl i know less, at uni for example. If i mention the fact that i masturbate in some way or another (i suppose i have my reasons, but i can't think of any situation atm lol), i often see some ppl think "omfg, what is he taking about? " . The question of course is: should i see what i'm talking about sometimes in order to spare me a bad rep with some ppl; or do i just don't care at all? It's mostly the latter, since the only ppl that are surprised are them catholic daddy's girls. Which is sexy, in a dirty, innocent way, but still.

I completely agree. I find myself talking about all kinds of things in public...and then I realize what I'm talking about and the looks I get...but do I really care? NOOOO!!!! For I am a GENIUS! Fall before me, unwashed masses, and praise me! PRAISE ME! MUHAHAHAHAH!

Besides there are those people like me that have like 100.00+ monthly sex toy habbit.. (this does not reflect on Mr. Satis at all, he is very nice!)Hell I even buy them for my friends... so not all Americans are prudes... Hell I try to have sex everywhere possible...church parking lots, parks... why aren't we allowed more nudity... I realize I am more forth coming than most americans... but come on, don't blame all of us for the few people who rely on the media to tell them what to think.

In a strange way Americans are generally even more open about sexuality and stuff like sex toys. I have yet to meet aa European girl that talks absolutely freely about sex toys and stuff. I met a few Americans like that. I even dated one for a few months.
Why then this incredible media-reflex against anything 'over the line'? Maybe the States are just too diverse? Nice and liberal-thinking people (and libertines ) and rather horrible prudes in a few high-up places?
Mheh, just a thought.

And the prudes can pull most of the strings maybe? Today i read that an episode of ER is going to be changed, because some elderly woman was going to show her breast in that episode. This to not further upset people anymore after this nipplegate-thing. Now that's what a call stupid, the breast was even functional and blabla in the script (my guess is she has breastcancer).
AND justin timberlake has troubles with his family and claims now that he expected her to wear a red bra or something. Now that's stupid again, first pulling out a stunt and then pulling back your shit (if that's an expression in english).
Anyways, you're prolly right about the sex stuff and things, i haven't met a girl yet that openly discusses such things. Still that strong catholic morale is something that gives me the creeps.
Reminds me of an incident at a party (at uni) once. Friend of mine was head of the club that was throwing that party, and they had a big screen where they showed (naughty) cartoonmovies on. It was funny actually, and it went together with the theme of the party. Then some pranksters decided to put in a real porntape for a few minutes (which i missed btw, i was prolly too drunk to notice, damn). A bit later suddenly the cops were there, they had recieved a call from people that at the party someone was showing porn on screen. Turned out those "Pax Christi" people called them because they were shocked. That friend of mine almost got sewed, he and several others had to go to the police station several times, a lot of troubles. So we get such people here too, only they have much less influence prolly.

That's what I was implying yes. Cf my continuous trashing of the Bush-administration.

I think you have it somewhat incorrect.... the extremes of any subject attach the media... but the normal people just sit in the sidelines... so don't base you ideas on the media they just show the really fucked up shit causeit makes headlines... the somewhat normal people like umm yeah sure myself just sit there and say hey don't blame us for the prudes and the sluts.

Maybe, but there wouldn't be anyone in Europe to sue someone for something like this, but in the US, the claims are coming already.
