Well, the title pretty much says it all. I'm trying to record from my sound card (so that I don't have any of the sound quality issues associated with the the anal loop ![]() The problem is, I can find guides on how to do it - but there's one stage which isn't working. http://www.sound-recorder.biz/Tutorials ... Vista.html I go to show disabled devices, but the CD one comes up and not the Stereo mix. Any ideas why? I started looking at programs to do it for me, but as expected the require me to set a source for the audio. The program I've used for a while now is Audacity for my recording of voice etc, but now it's time to steal some sound from an old retro game and I can't! heh ![]() |

I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, but you can record directly from the sound card with Audacity. If you run Audacity on the background while playing that game, you should be OK (unless I misunderstood you). I don't have it installed and I'm too lazy to do it and find out, so you'll have to look around for yourselves. |

The problem is, that I have to enable a device (as in the link I posted) to be able to select that device in Audacity, so that I can record from the sound card. However, I can't find that device on the system, though according to the guides I've read it should be there! |

Does your soundcard support this feature or does the program you use support such soundcard. |
