Here's an interesting article on the next Intel core, the Nehelem. A lot of neat info but something buried about halfway through is that the core will require a new socket. I was expecting my current core2duo mobo to last awhile but apparently not. Something to keep under advisement.

btw, apparently the new chip will support 2-8 cores and also support hyperthreading. Seeing as hyperthreading used to cause a single cpu to show up as 2 in task manager, I wonder if you could end up with 16 cpus listed in task manager. That'd be kinda neat.
