Post Building a new box
ok...so...I'm building a new box. Windows XP and its horrible support for SATA RAID as a boot drive has given me hours of heartache...such that now I just put a PATA drive in as my Windows install. Ah well.

Anyway, this is my new baby (or will be)

e6300 core2duo
FP-IN9 SLI motherboard (Fatal1ty series)
2 GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
2 WD 300GB SATA300 drives in a RAID 0 array
BFG Geforce 8800gtx OC

I suppose those are the important parts. I'm hoping that it should be finished tonight, since I've given up on making the RAID array bootable.

Looks like a sweet machine, although I know squad about most of those specs. I haven't looked at the market for about a whole year.

yea, I had to get back into it. Had to pluck around and figure out what chipset was good, HD speed, what RAM was going on...man, I know almost nothing about DDR2.

Anyway, it's built and i'm on it. I can crank up basically all the settings in Vanguard and still run faster than my last box did. I've also only crashed once so far (with a BSOD, of course). I need to get around to doing some benchmarking, but bleh. :)

Vanguard looks nice. I'm VERY tempted to reinstall Oblivion and crank up all its settings.
