rofl...with your advanced graphics and understanding of physics, no. Honestly, the only way you'll know for sure is to fire it up and watch your temps You're probably fine...that's how cases are designed to operate. Just make sure you have enough fans. And remember the theory of positive air pressure. |

in the BIOS, or with a windows application that monitors the temperature sensors. Like motherboard monitor. |

Is your computer not running right? If it is, why be bother with heat issues? Unless your computer is jammed inside a small computer cabinet/desk or has stuff likes books or something piled around it, heat is not a problem. also if your overclocking but I know your not doing that...hoepfully. |

No issues at all at the moment. It was just one of those things i needed to double check pre-hand. And no, i have no intention of overclocking. That would be just silly. |

on the heat thing....I didn't think there was a serious heat problem on my old server either. Until the motherboard/processor burned out. Granted, it took two years, but I also had several harddrive failures in that time on that machine. If I'd kept the box cooler, I'm wondering if I could have avoided the equipment loss. |

It was AMD, yes, but OLD. It was a K62/450 on an Iwill motherboard. I had a catastrophic system failure and traced it down to being either the motherboard or processor that died. The case had no fans on it. I also had several harddrive deaths on that box which may be traced to heat also. Dunno...but kinda odd I had several HDs die on that machine during the time I had none die on any others. |

Im betting is was defienatly a AMD. Intel's dont overheat. When I was working at our Lan gaming center we had some "novice" computer techs working there too. When they would build computers they would forget to take the plastic part off the bottom of the CPU heat sink before mounting it to the cpu. Before selling it we would run Prime98 and some other burn in test on it. While we would do this we would montior CPU heat. All our machines had Intels in them. The machine that still had the plastic on the bottom of the heat sink would run high tempature but would never crash during the burn in test. Then we would go back and inspect the inside really good and find the techs where leaving on the plastic. We would take the plastic of and remount the heat sink and the computer ran like a champ. My friend and I were amazed that the CPU didnt melt the plastic. Thats proof how cool Intel chips run. |

Again I am threading in the footsteps of the 1337est of us all, Derf. Behold my power cooling scheme. A few questions about it: 1) Am I losing a lot of fine cooling capacity with the monster cooler on the mobo and the monster cooler of the case back being so close to each other? 2) In green there's the optional front side 80mm fan...which isn't there, yet. Would you recommend getting one, would it improve the airflow considerably? And if so, should it take air in or blow it out?
Muha. Questions, questions. EDIT: I probably need to add that the monster CPU cooler really does blow coolness into all directions, and that i'm not just making that up. The copper ridge is divided into tons of smaller copper 'arms' that aren't connected. |

honestly...look at what your temperatures are doing. That's the only way to truly tell if your cooling is adequate. With MBM, I can tell the temperatures of my cpu (in 2 ways) and my case. My nvidia drivers can also show me the temp of my graphics card. If you have the same capabilities, just check that out and see if you're happy with yours. |

Alright: +35 C for both mobo and CPU in rest (ie now), and around 40 C when and right after playing a recent game like the FEAR demo or GTA: SA with everything turned up. So, that's great. Sorry to bother you with that then, hehe. |
