Post subject:  Problems with network

Ok so i added a third lan card since both of the two integrated ones are shot to shit, hence the problems with BF2. One is down 100% the other one is hanging in there by a rope, i mean the local area connection2 sign flashes about 20 times in a minute.

Now to the problem, i intsalled the third card and it sais i have limited or no connectivity. the problem occured because the network didnt assign a network key, yada yada bla bla bla.

Anyway what the hell is this key? gateway? subnet? ip? i tried insterting these manually and nothing, still cant connect to net with that card.

Suggestions are welcome, since i have wireless router and none of the guests can access net either, same issue no network key whatever that is.

SSID? Why are you going wireless?

Anyway...ok, so the card is inserted. Drivers are loaded. Is your wireless router broadcasting its SSID? If not, I believe you'll need to manually insert it. Alternately, I think you should be able to scan for WLANs.

As for the "limited connectivity" shit, it means it's not connecting to anything.

And how the hell did you blow up two integrated nics? Are you sure there isn't something else wrong?

Because my bro and his gf and friends usually have laptops, so i have wireless router. PCs still connect through cable tho.

Believe me, i was as surprised as you are. Anyway, i had to operate on the new lan card with iron saw to make it fit :D, nothing beats direct hands on approach :D

Anyway the new card is working, i am here am i not. now to figure out why the laptops have the same problem.
