i didnt notice anyone else with anything so obvious and simple seems no one else can work without frontpage. and if its already in notepad, why paste it into Frontpage then upload it? Or copy it into the pagebuilder thingy? Just offering a more simple answer than pasting it to some random other program.

Are you joking? Nobody does vanilla-HTML editing anymore. Thats just like going back to the stone age. And Frontpage? Frontpage sucks ballz. Dreamweaver is the daddy.

It's easier to edit your own HTML man, at least, it is if you want to know what you are doing, and not have it done for you.

To clarify, I have no problem with DW as tool in general, just using it as WYSIWYG.

No way, its not. You try building a website with Dynamic HTML and Java applets using just Notepad, and i'll use Dreamweaver. I bet ill finish 8 months before you.
Trust me on this one, ive studied a module on it at Uni.

nobody does it. cept me and mole. at least we know how to fix things, theres no crappy extra code put in by some program lol.
and yes. i've studied this in uni too. in fact its the majority of what i studied at uni since i was on a web design course. i can quite easily write a good 10 page website using html and (with some help from tutorials) php or java applets in a week at the most, and just using raw html i can do it in less than a day.

For editing webpages I just use FTPPro. You can FTP in and edit documents on live. For building webpages from scratch I use DW, then edit the code so it looks nice.

omfg....Derf....sweet jesus.
Take a look at http://clankiller.com
COMPLETELY, 100%, ENTIRELY, WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTIONS, WRITTEN IN A TEXT EDITOR BY HAND
yes...an entire, php driven website, with sql backend, written entirely in a text editor. No WYSIWYG crap. I'd like someone using WYSIWYG doing php includes effectively. I'd also love to see someone like that debug php code. Is there even a WYSIWYG editor for php? I don't know how it'd be possible.
So...saying that 'noone' uses a text editor to edit their code is like saying that noone drives a stick any more. For someone that actually knows how to code, it's a freakin' hell of alot easier and faster to code using a text editor.
btw, I don't use notepad, I use EditPlus because it has context-sensitive highlighting. And to prove my point:

Yes, but ffs there are 15 lines of code on the clankiller.com page. When you need to code a website with sophisticated functions and apperance, you use WYSIWYG! Not a text editor. It like using a knife to eat your spaghetti.
