I figured i'd post this aswell, might save some time in case someone plans on installing or using a microphone on win XP.

Some mikes are very quiet without boost and it was quite tricky to find the boost option with Realtek soundmanager. I added a picture where it shows where to press inorder to bring up the boost option.

Now the Front pink in and Rear pink in might not be immediatly available hence the small arrows on the side. Use them untill you see the afore mentioned inputs. To bring up the boost option click on the tiny little button below the volume bar next to the mute button (bright red circles on the picture).
