Post Running Fedora in Virtual PC
Ok, for anyone not familiar, virtual pc allows you to run a "virtual" computer inside of Window. IE, it looks and acts like an entirely separate machine... you can install another O/S on it and do whatever you want. Provided you have enough RAM and a power enough processor, you could run 10 copies of Windows2003 inside a Windows XP desktop. Very handy for testing purposes.

Anyway, I found a tut on getting Fedora to work in virtual PC. Virtual PC is free from Microsoft

Fedora is free from, well, the Fedora people. For those unfamiliar Fedora is a flavor of Linux based off of Red Hat.

And here are instructions on getting it to work. Basically you just have to add some boot parameters to the Linux kernel. Without that virtual PC freaks and throws an error.

So, if you wanted to play with Linux but don't want to deal with installing it on your main PC, put it in a virtual pc. That way you can even look up tutorials or whatever inside of Windows.

To add to this, here's a cool guide on configuring the "perfect server". Though there's a bunch of stuff in here I don't care about, it covers installation and configuration of a bunch of stuff that I do find interesting.
