Post IPconfig
I wanted to forward some ports in my router, and to find the needed IP info I always use ipconfig from a command line window. However, all of a sudden this stopped working, and windows says it doesn't know the command. What the fuck's up?

I think he was poll-starved.

Your path is screwed up, more than likely, so it doesn't know where to find the file.

Since it's xp, the most likely path is

c:\Windows\system32\ipconfig

Try that.... if that's the case something fubbed up your system path. Otherwise, something deleted ipconfig.

I'll second Satis. That happened to me once. No idea why. I had to specify the full path for every fucking program. :/ Try "ping yahoo.com" and "tracert yahoo.com". If those both fail then it's your path.

haha...yea...fix your path.

Right click My Computer
go to properties
go to advanced
click environment variables
in the system variables section (bottom) find PATH and open it

you may want to copy the contents and put them in notepad so you can read it
if it's empty, nevermind that last step
you should have the following entries in there somewhere...every entry is separated by a semi-colon (;)

%SystemRoot%\system32
%SystemRoot%

If that doesn't work, try manually specifying the system root, ie

c:\Windows\system32
c:\windows

That should fix you.
