I just picked up my old savegame from The Darkest Day, now i noticed that i have a brain in my inventory. I don't have a clue where i got it and what i was supposed to do with it .. anyone else has?

My last savegame was in the planar sphere, i cleared that part now, but i doubt i picked it up there. I'm thinking now maybe i killed some mindflayer thingie .. somewhere .. perhaps. No idea though. I haven't visited many 'new' areas, only area i seem to remember is the house on the lake (one of the maps that you normally get when you return from Underdark). But perhaps my memory is blurred and i'm forgetting something.

*update* I'm out of the sphere now, and appearantly the brain is gone. Dunno where it went or what i used it for but it's gone. Blah.

Heh funny thing just happened, i found some mirror that can summon an outer plane creature or something, only for rangers. I'm happy because i'm having minsc in my team, so i wanna equip it .. intelligence too low. I should have known.

Btw i still don't know what was supposed to happen with the brain, i noticed that the brain, but also some arms/legs and a torso i was carrying had disappeared. I (mistakenly) assumed that those were gax' bodyparts, so i had some import-export-save-load game going on untill i had my parts back. I thought i had dropped them somewhere and forgot to pick them up. Now appearantly it were just some parts, not gax his .. now i'm even more confused. I've never seen these parts before in 'regular' bg2, so any TDD-connaisseurs here that can explain what and where?

Oh also found a quarterstaff +3 that gives you 4 attacks per round .. nice.

Maybe you can make something with it, I really can't remember.

After looking through the TDD forums, I found out that you can find a lot of body parts and they combine into something. Do you have Lavok's heart?

Mm i already dumped the parts now, and i took Lavok outside where he died as usual, but he left nothing behind, so i didn't have all the parts anyway. I think that was a bug him leaving nothing behind, since normally you're supposed to get a ring from him, which i had to steal first now.

Another problem: wanted to cast lvl8 spell `suffucation` which is new in TDD i think, and my game crashes .. tried it again as a test and it crashed again.

Anyone else having experience with the new spells that you cannot use for some reason? Must be a bug or something but it`s rather annoying.

Btw i used my wild mage which can only cast lvl 7 spells up to this point, maybe that has something to do with it? I`m doing some TDD-maps.

A new spell can bring new bugs. I ever had that bug though, so I can't help you. Do you have any other mods installed other then TDD? Incompatibility with other mods can seriously fuck up you games.

Nope just the TDD-mod, nothing else. Maybe I should see if other new spells cause the crash as well.

Minor update on the `suffucation` problem, i can`t cast it through N... Reckless Dw... still get the crashes even though i`m able to cast lvl 8 spells now, tried some other `new` spells (like army of darkness and ice shard) the same way and they worked. So my guess is that spell is just f*cked up. I should try to cast it normally to see if it doesn`t work at all or just not that way.

Stupid bugs.

hehe...yeah, TDD is a nest of bugs. It's called Nahal's Reckless Dweomer btw...i'm such a freak.

I remember the one game I was actually gonna complete with TDD, then a bug surfaced letting the game crash every time I rested, I couldn't hold that for too long. I usually don't use my mages for the small fights (too much fuss), but for the really bad guys I do need them.

Another bug: got back from the underdark and thought it was about time to upgrade my mace of disruption, seeing the numbers of vampires i`ll have to confront. Went to Sir Sarles, killed him, no illithium .. weird. I talk to him after i checked my journal if i did finish this quest (affirmative answer) and he started nagging about getting him illithium. I thought maybe the quest got reset somehow, the ore merchant also wants to sell me fake illithium or the name of her contact btw, so i went to Neb`s house. Problem is i`ve already been there, the door is open, no Neb so no illithium.

Question: am i fucked or do you see a way to get the illithium back?

Gonna try one more thing now that i just came up with, but i bet i won`t work.

You can try to get it back through Shadowkeeper. It's a SoA item after all.
