  Since it seems to be your cd that is the problem, why not try a no-cd patch? It's not much trouble finding one and could bypass the whole cd-reading stage for you. Just guessing tho, wouldn't know what else to do. Maybe your pc is too fast for good old IWD.

lol i doubt his comp is too fast, mine is a similar build (xp home, used to be on pro, 2.5gig P4, 512 ram etc) and the only problem i ever had was with the end boss being a tough beast! lol. but yeah sounds like a cd thing. maybe you were just unlucky and got a slightly dodgily recorded one and those two places didn't quite record right, so sometimes they work, mostly they don't *shrugs* do like ox said and try a no cd patch.
