Post Just keep talking
I'm starting absolute new session from BG1 to ToB with one Half-elven Fighter/Mage/Thief. This time I'll play absolutely alone and put here what troubles me and how I solved that.

Now go to sleep. :P GB everyone.

I can imagine, no bags of holding, no potionbags, no scrollcases in bg1.

What weapons do you use? Stats are prolly around 18 on str, dex, int and 3 on charisma :P .

Why did you pick half-elf btw, they don't get real bonusses (limited sleep-resistance i don't call a real benefit) if i remember correctly, while humans and elves do.

Most of time I use one Composite Long Bow with cheapest arrows. Other options are Varscona with one Large shield (for nearsome, small and no-range-weapons-armed beings) and Two Handed Sword +1 for Bigger things that cannot be catched with Bow so easy.

Pretty do for end of chapter three. I'm now in bandit seek'n'slaughter. They make good profit. Auch, Black Talon Elites!! I think I have not got myself killed by that bastards, yet.

Bah, I chosen it in first because it can multiclass to fighter/mage/thief. In secnod just to make it a bit more difficult.

Heh...F/M/T is a very tough class to solo idd, especially in BG1. Good luck tho GFreeman. :) A druid would have been another idea...I once soloed an avenger druid from BG2 thru ToB with all improvements. That rocked, really stretched ùe for tactics, as opposed to running in with a big axe and 500HP.

Btw Gfreeman, you aware of the tactics and Ascenscion mods for Bg2/ToB? Since you play so much BG2 it might spicen things up for you. :)

Lets say you were soloing, and levelled up right to the skill cap, (the higher skill cap with the expansion installed)

would anything be able to stand up against you still? *never done it*

Yeah, towards the end you can still get seriously pwned if you're playing a "sissie" class like Avenger...a sorcerer or wild mage should be able to make it without probs tho. Of course, you'll kick enormous ass during the game itself becasue you'll hit your lvl cap much sooner. :)

tactics mod

http://weidu.org/tactics.html

makes Irenicus' dungeon WAY harder, adds other fun confrontations later on (Kuroisan the acid kensai is a beauty of well-tuned scripting) and tweaks the AI in SOA in general to make opponents smarter. (like lichs who tend to make...questionable choices if it comes to spells. :/ )

Ascenscion mod

http://weidu.org/asc.html

spicens up the 5 bhaalspawn fights, and gives you one HECK of a final fight :D I love ascension.

There are other good things on http://weidu.org but those two are by far my favorites (and don't unbalance the game to the easy side, well maybe to the hard side ;) hehe )

Heh, really? It's pretty challenging, but I would think it's very much possible to do with a full party. It's soloable, anyway.

Aye. IIRC, this was the patch which installed a Planetar in Irenicus Dungeon. :D
