done a bit of research, just to be sure. by the looks of things even if you have 2 prestige kits (shadowdancer, assasin) you won't get stung.
you have to watch it though when you're dealing with a non human or half elf. demi's still get stung with non prestige , non favoured multi classing.
(i.e dwarf wizard, rogue, cleric)
ok, according to a build one of the biomods has worked out, the earliest you can take assasin is at your 6th level, due to the 8 hide points, and shadowdancer at 7th level.
you can get about 16 or 17 levels out of the offal.

Okay, i'm serieusly doubting my choice of rogue now, i tested to take an henchman with me (the monk) and when i kill a zombie, i only get 33 exp instead of 42 which i don't like. Furthermore i hate it to depend on the other guy, he makes all the kills which is not good for my ego .
So basically a rogue sucks big time if you ask me, unless as a backup character but i like to pull the strings myself.
SO now i'm considering to make me a monk/assassin with prolly a lvl of shadowdancer in. Or just a plain monk because high lvl abilities like magic resistance, quivering palm are very nice.
We'll see.

it really depends how you play rogues, the best way imo is to use missle weapons from a distance, where your sneak attack really adds up. ok, your henchman may make more kills overral, but does he persuade for information, disable traps, etc? you're the brains, he literally IS the hired brawn. in the role play sense of course.
good luck with a solo monk, like in bg2, they only really kick ass at higher levels, they are handicapped by the abilty points spread over wis, dex, con AND str, plus you may need a decent int for the skill points in tumble, etc.
bottom line is, unless you choose a tank character, until higher levels you HAVE to take a henchman. which does suck i know.

Hehe, i changed my mind again, i got rid of grimgnaw and went solo again. I chose the beggar's district to start with, these zombies can't catch up with me so i can just shoot them from distance with my crossbow . We'll see how i hold myself against stronger enemies, the run and hit tactic works well so far.

heh, n1
be interesting how you do against loxar, etc buy a thieves hood as soon as you can, to counter against knockdown, max umd and use all the magic you can, your going to need it. oh, and don't forget those traps.

It's rather hard (but what had i expected) to fight groups of enemies. But i try to pick them of one by one, and a lot of running away is involved. I just had an encounter with mr. bloated dire spider. As you suggested with loxar, resisting knockdown is something i'm not made for.
With the right tactics (setting a LOT of traps, running around, summon something for distraction and go hide myself) i managed to kill the bastard in the end. It did take several tries though.
At first i wanted to use my brother's tactic, he ran with the spider behind him all the way to the guards at the entrance of the map. But that was a bit far imo, and my tactic worked out as well.
I would appreciate it though when i'm finally able to take that lvl of shadowdancer to be able to hide in plain sight.

We could safely say that loxar didn't pose a serieus threat. Snuck inside, backstabbed his dog so that that problem was out of the way. Then i ran outside to hide, backstabbed him. Now the key to my victory was my upgraded shortsword +1 that can stun an opponent if he fails a will-save (DC 14). If they're just standing there i get a sneak attack. Pretty cool if you ask me . So no real problems with him, i'm feeling pretty strong atm. Prison thing went very smooth as well, even did that pit-fight in blacklake district.
I rule.

If you do so, let me know so i can give you some pointers, things that i know now i should have picked differently. Like i'm still waiting for my lvl of shadowdancer because i needed dodge and mobility as feats, which i kinda overlooked.
And start in the beggar's district, those zombies are really really slow so you can just kill them from distance with a crossbow. In the other districts i got my ass kicked at that point. Not very heroic, but who cares as long as it gets the job done.

oooo KotOR... I really liked that one One of the best stories I've had in a game... I think I was really shocked at a certain part in the game (you know which part ). Actually, I'm not sure how shocked I was, because I got addicted and I got at that part around 5ish AM
Btw, got HotU and was a bit disappointed... I suspected something like Ust Natha, not a colony of weaklings Never fought an Illithid, the Beholders were damn easy and that demi-lich was pathetic Even the Dragon Disciple wasn't very interesting... Ah well, got some cool new feats and spells

That sucks seriously what's it with you and pc's anyway J? always seems to turn out for the worst lol.
I took NWN back up yep. Needed to take it a bit "slower" again after Far Cry, cos that was like 120 km/h gameplay. hehe...I advanced quite a bit already in SoU by now, I just killed both the ice dragon and Njah (or something) Making deals is not my game bitches (ice dragon and co), i make deals, then kill you and take all your other stuff! The sorceross was pretty damn hard (stupid 45-damage lightning attacks ), but the ice dragon was LAUGHABLE with the sorceress' potion...but now i wonder: could i have kept the potion and used it for later in the game? That'd rock, doing the final battles as a frost giant lol.
As usual I don't have a henchman with me, but now i've come to the point where i will tell Deekin he's released from the dragon's service and can pick him up myself. So, my question is: is he worth taking along? I kinda like bards, that's a plus, but is he "interesting" through the rest of the game?
On a sidenote: i did feel a bit bad for killing the dragon after i read what he had read on the back of Deekin's stuffed animal. I didn't realize he could be so friendly. Of course, in character I made fun of it all, but as me being me it was kind...cold. lol.
So, have Deekin tag along or not? Ah, and does he steal XP from me?

Deekin is cool.
Espescially in HotU, where he gets wings as a dragon disciple.
