Post Fighter-Cleric abilities (ToB)
My dwarven fighter-cleric just levelled up in his fighter class, making him lvl14/lvl14 (or something about). Now the strange thing is that i got to chose abilities, even stranger is that i could chose between both fighter pool and cleric pool, although i only levelled as a fighter. This isn't supposed to happen is it? I noticed with Aerie in my previous (TDD) game that she never got any mage pool spells, thought that was a bug due to the darkest day.

So is this normal or not? Do the abilities kick in when you reach a certain xp-cap, disregarding the fact if you're a multi-class character, thus adding the xp in both classes? Since i thought you got figherpool abilities at lvl 20 (or about) and so on. It does sound plausible, but is it truth? And am i supposed to be able to chose between both my classes, instead of the one i levelled in? How's that in your games?

I'm not sure, but I think it's "normal" for a multiclass character. I mean, the fact that they can choose hi-lvl abilities when they have enough XP with the their two classes put together. It is a bit unbalanced that they can choose freely between fighter and cleric abilities after that tho. I vaguely recall something about not being able to choose cleric abilities anymore when the first you chose was a fighter one, and vice versa. But I'm not sure anymore. I really gotta do a cramming session on BG2 again. ;)

Aha i see, not being able to chose cleric abilities since i chose whirlwind would suck heavily. Mass raise death is something i feel i'll need a lot. I'll get back on this if i level up once again with this character.

Appearantly you were mistaken. I just levelled as a cleric, and still had the choice between both fighter and cleric kit. It's a bit unbalanced as you say, i'm not going to use all of the cleric abilities probably since i'll only have a limited amount of lvl 7 spells, so i get more fighter abilities than i should.

I'm going to (try to) take on Gaxx now, i'll let you know how it goes. First i need to deal with his guardians aargh. And i just dealt with the Twisted Rune (or what's it called) guys. Fun fight, needed several tries.

Good luck :D And soz about being wrong...like I said, I need to do a good study round. :( On a totally unrelated matter: still looking for a job J? Cos I saw this thing on terzake about educated ppl becoming part-time (i think) officers in the army. They just get a basic training and become officer right away because they got a degree, like you. I found the idea tempting myself, but after 5 minutes of watching low-rank dudes shouting orders around I felt the urge to kill. Maybe if EVERYTHING in our lives fails we'll go in the army. Lieutenants J and Rinox, heh. Make that Field Marshall Rinox. ;)

EDIT: to stay a bit on topic: a fighter/cleric with globe of blades, improved haste is a MONSTER. I love globe of blades.

Don't get me started on jobs, i applied for an ideal job, but of course i didn't make it. It was in the federal police, just like in CSI (the tv-series, dunno if you know it), investigating crimes and such. It would have been cool. And you would have had connections to cover up your crimes if everything else fails.

Sucks that i didn't see Terzake, although i'm not that much of a army-guy. And i'm way too relaxed prolly.

The problem with my jobsearch is that i want a job that i think i might like (more or less). Ah well who knows, belgian army can't be that bad to work for. Or i could still start teaching 16-18 year olds, prolly the worst age of kids you can get in a class. Disobedient, disinterested and a big mouth. Joy.

Anyway .. bg still rocks. And i learned Comet. Will have to try some dragonslaying in the near future too.

Comet rocks the house. :) And mm, did you do AILO? (lerarenopleiding) I never bothered, even tho I'm in a course which very much can lead to teaching. :/ Maybe if I fail my thesis and do a thesisyear; then i'll do AILO on top of that. And yeah, Belgian army, that's a good lol. I'm sure we'd be spearheading the invasion of the US or Russia.

To be able to teach, you have to follow a D-course (i think now the name changed) within a year or so. So although i have absolutely no idea how to teach i can still appear in front of a class. Strange system if you ask me.

I wanna invade the Vatican :P

Make sure you clean him out and don't blame us if he dies on you. ON topic, I think that when you level up you level up as a fighter and get his ability and then level up as a cleric and chose his, that's what happened with Jahiera for me.
