Anyone used it yet? For lack of a proper screen I've been using my TV to play some games on (either through my laptop or my recently transferred PC) with the help of an HDMI cable and a controller, and it works beautifully for some games. Big Picture Mode is easy to navigate, fast and efficient (for a controller-directed program anyway). It stands as a lesson for Microsoft and Sony in user friendliness as far as I'm concerned. Some games just work better on a big screen with a controller...a lot of the more blatant ports from consoles (Arkham Asylum, GTA, LA Noire, etc) play a lot better that way. Obviously for shooters, strategy and most else still use mouse + keyboard and my proper laptop/PC screen. If you have your devices hooked up at home, give it a shot. It's pretty great. |

I plan on buying a Razer Edge, which will be definitely using big picture mode. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but so far have no need, since I do all my current gaming on my desktop. |

Yeah I can see it working well with a Razer Edge. I think the HDMI cable from the device to the TV may prove to be annoying though. Although I guess there's really not much point in swinging the Edge around when you're playing on the big screen, so maybe not. They should come up with a fast and reliable wireless (local) transfer of video. ![]() |
