[quote]The first update for Left 4 Dead 2 is coming, and boy is it a doozy. Called "The Passing," the content will occur after the Dead Center campaign, and will show the meeting of the survivors from both games. That's right, Zoe fans, everyone will come to together for one big zombie-killing good time.

"The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign,â€

Sounds freakin awesome. 8 player campaign, am I understanding that correctly?!

We have 6 regulars close by, don't we? Me, ox, peltz, satis, shiny, o'cram.

We need to find 2 more by spring then :D

Oh, I bagsy bill. :D

Lol. I associate Bill with you anyway. And the more so when he spazzes out on the shotty. ;)

And God yes. I love you Valve (cfr TF2 update).

And Derf, we could probably find 1 or 2 decent peeps on our friends lists.

Yea, that's how I read it... 8 person coop. Freakin' awesome. I think Shiny will be claiming Zoey... and I'll probably stick with my current guy. Now the question is how much it'll cost, or if it'll be free.

On PC? Probably free.

Think the 8-man co-op will be with 2 teams of 4 working along almost the same trail, with maybe one moment of meeting each other. 8 throughout just wouldn't be playable.

Depends on the map design i think.

Yea... I could see 8 simultaneously playing... but it would require large maps and areas. With 8 people you could really start using small unit tactics... set up fire teams and shit. Snipers in overwatch. It'd be marvelous.

Are you seriously considering an 8-man zombie brawl with Derf manning the shotty? That's asking for trouble.

I pick Francis or Coach, of course. I love Francis but I'm totally digging Coach too. In fact, I think I will use one of his lines as a sig from now on. :P

Haha, you're the fuckin liability, with your often-first position on the FF scoring and horrendous use of grenade launcher. My spazz FF moments are rare. Golden, but rare... (and ping / distraction related).

Haha, I predict small unit tactics will mostly fly right out the window when the first horde comes along. :D For panic events however, they could be quite valid.

heh...it would definitely take practice.

And personally I think both you bastards are dangerous. Ox is doubly so when he's got his grenade launcher equipped. I enjoy using it too, don't get me wrong.... In a real-life apocalypse, we won't allow Ox near explosives.

lol. It just doesn't do that much FF on advanced! So I blast away and try to avoid shooting peeps from point blank. Kinda. :P

I'm surprised Satis didn't mention me fucking myself up with the grenade launcher in the back of a truck during the Bridge Finale. I was a little stressed and accidentally fired the launcher as I was swapping it out for the shotty (only one grenade left), costing me a good 20 HP. And of course, Satis was watching me that very snap moment in the overall view because he'd died. Bastard.

So ok, I may be a dangerous liability with a GL, but I do usually get the job done! If that means Peltz or Derf being left behind because I took off 50% of their health during the campaign then so be it.

(but I am getting pretty good at melee weapons, and since they do little FF that may be a good thing for you guys)

Actually the problem i see most often is that people are used to games where the enemy has weapons as well and they tend to strafe but strafing is really bad in L4D. In L4d the point is parking your ass down and shooting the zombies as they appear in sight. Now add to that the fact that the character models are slightly larger than they appear and you have FF ding! Occasionally i notice that i get FF even when my line of fire was totally clear.

Yeah, the clipping affair (or whatever) does my nut in. Happens alot, when i'm really close to someone, I can blatantly see their muzzle and flash in front of me, yet I take FF damage. One of perhaps many little gripes I have with *2. My biggest one of which, is the delayed melee animations from Zombies. It's probably not ping related, since *1 didn't have this problem.

You know, a zombie comes up to you, he raises his arms, you take damage, then he swings his arms to hit you. Anyone else get this?

I dunno, never really paid much attention. And lol @ ox nading himself. I'd almost forgotten about that little incident.

Author:  Rinox [ Wed Dec 16, 2009 8:55 am ]

You call that a "little incident"? If that were reality, I'd have reduced myself to a series of blood spatters on the truck's walls. :P But then, if it had been realism I would have killed anyone on my team long before that already and never gotten that far.

I wonder if the grenade launcher does actual lethal damage on Realism mode instead of the "reduced" damage (compared to RL anyway).
