 Modern Warfare 2
So...the game's coming out in november or whatever, but it's looking pretty sick. There's a 'prestige' edition that'll be available that comes with an actual set of night vision goggles.

There's also going to be a special controller for the consoles

Man...I'm tempted by those NVGs.

Haha, that M4 is ridiculous.
My experience with NVG's is mixed. I tinkered with some old soviet ones, which are damn awful. Don't get too pumped about cheapo COD ones.

I played with one in the Army...it was pretty hot. But I never really got to use one heavily... they were reserved for the advanced scouting people, which I wasn't one of.
And yea, shiny told me to just buy the game and buy NVGs separately.

Well you would probably be able to get much better quality ones on your own. But if you want the assumed lesser quality ones go right ahead. At least I didn't tell you that you could not have them.

And here I was wondering whatever happened to the awesome special editions of the past (these days it's usually just a nicer box and 'additional content' that's available for everyone 2 months later). But I'm guessing this will cost at least 150€ or so, which is a bit much for any game.
Stupid question, but who here still buys and plays the CoD series anymore? Ever since they went console and modern they kinda lost me. It's not that they're bad (from having played a little at friends' places), just so...stale. And linear.
So were the earliest installments, I know, but I kinda expected SOME evolution since then.

Mole has his can you CoD it? video stuff, so i think he plays it. I used to play CoD4 but the people playing it are retards when you get lucky. Everytime a team starts losing suddenly everyone is on the winning team. haven't played it for a long time.

I kinda like modern warfare. The one after that was retarded. If they can break up the linearity of the next CoD I may really like it. I'm really sick of WWII FPSs though. Go modern, or some other way, I don't care. Spanish/American war or Boxer Rebellion or SOMETHING...anything but WWII.

I don't play it, but I watch Mole play it. I gave up after #2, nothing will beat that for me, loved it. #3 was dire, #4 was good (arguably the best but I used to shoot my colleagues on #2 so no competition ) and #5 was good but not as good. #6 (MW2) should be awesome.
I've never bothered with the singleplayer though I have to say. I find it the usual for a shooter, i.e. far too short so anyone who isn't gonna play MP will just be ripped off in my opinion.

I'm with you on this one, more or less. But have you played brothers in arms?

Yea, I played Hell's Highway. It wasn't horrible (nor was it great), but I'm no less sick of WWII. For reals. How about a first-person stabber (FPS) set around the start of the christian era where you fight for Rome against the barbarian hordes.
Btw, I know I'm off topic, but did anyone play Call of Juarez? I just couldn't get into it.

Nope. I always liked the look of it, but never enough to actually buy it or acquire it. You talking about the original or the recent sequel?

Right, here's a strange question some of you guys might be able to help me with - a seemingly simple one, actually.
Say I wanted to contact Infinity Ward regarding getting something to use to create a video with - how the bloody hell do I go about it? I know, that even if I managed to find their email address for the marketing depo I'd struggle, but I've searched the site and the only email address I can find is some generic webform on the Activision site regarding customer service.
Basically, the question: If I was the press, how would I contact Infinity Ward?

Usually the specialized press has these contact details already, that's why you can't just find them on the web. It's the same for celebs and football players and whatnot...the press often have a contact number or email but aren't leaking them to the general public, because if they do so it becomes useless to them and their uses.
Your best bet is to send an email to [email protected] and make an eloquent case while making very clear what it is you would like to do. It's likely going to be sent on to the proper department from there (if they don't just snub you, of course).

I played Call of Juarez, but didn't end up finishing it. It had a kind of mickey mouse feel to it and wasn't really gritty and open like I was expecting. It's pretty much just a linear story driven shooter with SOME western style flavour.
