Indie game, available for PC, Mac, Wii and soon Linux.

man, I played the demo and i'm totally sold. This is FUN and often brilliant. The first levels are pretty basic, but after that it gets a little more complicated with different kinds of 'gooballs' and settings.

You seriously need to play the demo...it's only 35 mb and the learning curve is incredibly relaxed. You can get it on the awesome Steam or on the game's homepage...I think Satis and Shiny can buy the full version on steam too, for me it says 'zone blocked'. :( But I'm buying it anyway, through the site itself...someone who makes stuff this cool deserves the support.

Finished the game yesterday...total fun. What a wonderful game. It left me feeling like when I finished portal, happy because of how much fun I had but also sad because the (initial) fun is over.

I might write a review on CK for it. The more people support this kind of work, the better.

I played the demo but it's not really for me. Still, I respect the work put into it and hope it does well in sales.

Aight. Too bad you didn't like it. The game evolves a lot throughout chapters 2-4 btw, becomes a very different playing experience.

One of the reasons I wanted to buy the full game was because the makers decided to shy away from any DRM measures. From the order confirmation email:

Quote:
We are trying an experiment: World of Goo has absolutely no copy protection or DRM at all, since we want to give you (and everyone) the best experience we can. Thanks for not distributing this, and helping us make this possible!

That's cool. :!: I'll be buying Stardock's Sins of a Solar Empire soon for that exact same reason, when the first expansion comes out. I COULD just download them without even having to crack anything, but I don't. It's important that developers know that there are consumers who appreciate their customer-oriented attitude. In fact, Stardock's relatively niched games with no copy protection at all are doing well in sales. You'd think that was a wake up call for publishers, together with the controversies surrounding securom lately...

It's time we realized change isn't going to come from EA or Ubisoft, but from smaller developers like these.

Pretty interesting article on the piracy rate of world of goo, which has no copy protection whatsoever and is only a 60 MB or so.

yea, I saw that, 75% off. I grabbed the indie pack several weeks ago they had... it was like iFluid, eets, and a bunch of other stuff for fairly cheap. I twas so cheap I don't feel bad buying it... I might get this one too just for the hell of it.
