 Dead Space
I'm into horror games as you may or may not know, so I'm somewhat looking forward to this game. Basically it's a sci-fi horror system shock-ish game in space.
 | | | | Quote: Weightless and decompressed environments also appear in Dead Space, and Isaac can navigate through them using his pressurized suit and magnetic boots. Some levels even lead out onto the surface of the ship's hull. Floating debris presents a hazard, however, and Isaac can lose his footing and simply float off into space.[3] In keeping with Isaac's profession as an engineer rather than a soldier, weapons in the game are mostly improvised, and consist of an array of bolt cutters, stasis fields and rudimentary energy weapons.[3]
Combat in Dead Space becomes complicated when Necromorphs do not simply "die" after receiving a certain number of gun rounds. In fact, depending on how they are wounded, Necromorphs can adopt new stances and tactics, even sprouting new limbs and giving birth in the process.[4] To defeat the Necromorphs, Isaac must utilize "strategic dismemberment," the methodical severance of specific limbs or sections of the Necromorphs.[5] Dead Space's executive producer, Glen Schofield, has said that "the primary theme of Dead Space is dismemberment,"[3] and early previews of the game have noted the high levels of gore.[2][3][4] | | | | |

EDIT: oh shit, it's EA and features securom. Well, guess I won't be getting it. Maybe my bro buys it for his Xbox 360, I guess...

lol...actually, I don't want EA as such to blow up in a nice mushroom blast. A strange thing to say, I know. But they have publicly asserted a change of course a while ago, straying a bit from being the sequel factory they've become and putting more attention into original titles.
While that, of course, still remains to be seen given the game development cycles of today (not getting my hopes up) I guess it's at the very least a good idea. But then, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

But yeah, no securom for me. No sirree bob. I'm not about to be left with a frakked up pc during the gaming season.

They have brought in new titles but essentially they will cash in on them with micro transactions.
So stay tuned for dead space: monster pack nr 1

heh, yea. They still rape their games, just not by franchising it. They just commoditize everything about it. Look for Spore toilet paper for Christmas.

Man, I'm in a bit of a bind here...as a sci-fi AND horror shooter fan I like what I read about this game, but I really can't bring myself to buy it with the securom protection. Meh. And playing a horror shooter on an Xbox 360 just isn't the same, with the crap TV, no surround and less opportunities for midnight gaming.
