Post Abondonia
Just for all of us who like to play an old classic from time to time...abondonia features a neat and comprehensive overview of abandonware games and even offers the large majority up for free download. :)

Games like Blood (loved playing that one), Another World, Wasteland, Secret Agent, Beneath a Steel Sky and much, much more...

Check it!

oh man, I played Blood when I was stationed in Korea with the military. My 486 couldn't push it all the way... there were certain levels it would choke and die on. Tempting.

Hehehe, I'm in act 2 already now. :P Given a little tweaking with the key configs the game runs like a dream. Sure, don't expect Unreal 3 style textures and 4x AA or anything, but it's not too shabby. Flare guns ftw!

The game is a blast to waste some time on, but it's not easy. Modern shooters are way easier...I guess we've suffered something of a nivellation now every retard in the universe is supposed to be able to beat the game (democratisation of gaming through consoles etc).

Anyway, if you need some help with dosbox to get the game running, lemme know. Not that you wouldn't figure it out anyway on your own, but it would probably be less of a hassle if I explained it.

Pev, I'm also playing Beneath a Steel Sky and Eye of the Beholder 2 :)

I was finishing chapter 2 yesterday ("Even Death May Die") and wanted to take some screenshots/clips, but for some reason Fraps doesn't work when using a DOS emulator. I'm sure there's some fancy and logical explanation for it, but I just figured it sucked that I couldn't. :P

Are you using Dosbox? I believe that program has it's own facilities to make screenshots or even movies.

I checked, you're right about the screenshots. Thanks. :) Apparently there's a patch to get fraps to work with dosbox, too, but perhaps I won't bother with it. Too much hassle.
