Yup, it's official, Doom 4 is being developed by Id. Here's hoping it's more than just a technology demo like doom3 was. :p And please, not so dark!

Oh, and they're hiring. I'm in the same general area but I don't delude myself into thinking I have a chance of landing a job.

Pssh...sure you could. It just depends on what job/level you're willing to take, I suppose.

As you might recall I applied for a job at a games developer here in Belgium 2 months ago. I didn't get the job, but that had a lot more to do with the circumstances than with my own skills. I daresay that given a slightly more lucky constellation, I would have landed the job.

Point being: you can always TRY. Writing a cover letter isn't hard at all if you're sincerely interested in the positon, I've found. The opposite is also true (it's a bitch to write even a decent letter for jobs you don't really like).

As for Doom 4...I'll probably end up playing it, and then bitch about it on here. As usual. :) Last 'pure' FPS I played was Prey, which was surprisingly good but somehow turned out to be a HUGE bust. I can buy it for 7 bucks in my local games store now.

I'm not even remotely qualified for any of their job openings.

If they had an opening for a web developer or something I'd be all over it.
