But so far, things are looking pretty good for Black & White 2. After years of development, the game is almost done, and it's expected to ship next month.

damn right you are satis!

*hates you for starting the topic first*... oh and I hate you coz you get the game a week before I do :P lol.

30 sept in US, 7 oct in UK. just so you know. Thousand and one vids for it now too, not to mention screenies and articles. I used to have a huge folder on my desktop with vids and screenies in,but deleted it recently.

Graphics are way improved over BnW, they even have ants in the grass :D Villagers aren't so retarded, creatures can have free will or be made to act like a mindless ninny, following your every order but having no personality. And you get to build real cities. not poncy lil clusters of huts like you did in BnW. You can move time around by changing night or day, you get to smash people with your army...

...*goes off into daydream*

I'm just hoping that....

1. The intro tutorial is skippable (unlike BnW)
2. The game doesn't freak out when it sees a good mouse (unlike BnW w/ my boomslang)
3. The missions aren't frustratingly difficult (unlike BnW when you go back to the first island)
4. The villagers aren't retarded (:P)
5. It's easier to keep your creature from crapping everywhere

yea..that'll probably do it. From the articles I've been reading (IGN has one too) it's alot easier ot train your creature...it now tells you what you're training. No more beating the shit out of it trying to get it to stop crapping on your villagers and then realizing you were punishing some other behaviour.

I still can't get over my stupid creature trying to turn everyone into breeders.

yeah creature making everyone breeders was annoying.

1. dont know. possibly. i do know its made up of 3 islands, although it goes first island basics, second is pretty much just a cutscene, third is the new/advanced stuff
2. no clue. lol.
3. you obviously suck at bnw :P
4. well... supposedly not... but i think they will be ;)
5. should be.

with ya critter this time around, you can either have it like bnw, but slightly easier to train (ie. you can choose what you slap/stroke it for, instead of trying to praise it for healing and instead be told your creature "will sleep more".) or you can put it into 'modes' where it will do nothing but what it is told (i.e. there's a builder mode, gatherer mode, army mode) but if left in these too long, it will lose all free will.

yea, I read about the free will thing. I don't think I'll be using modes unless I absolutely have to. And about my wimpishness...

ok...when you get back to the first island and there are fireballs flying at your happy ass and your poor group of wus villagers, what do you do? Try like hell to catch em, miss enough that your village is all on fire, and pray feverishly that your retarded creature will hurry up and get with the rain spells?

Or did you teach your creature the protection spell after 50,000 tries and then actually manage to get him to cast it reliably? Because all that happened to me was my village burned down, all my people died, and that's about that.

*grumbles*

lol you send tons of resources through from land 3. Then you pause the game when you see a fireball come at you. Position yourself to catch it. Unpause game. Hold in right-click to catch and don't let go of right click. You can now absorb the other fireballs (as long as you don't completely miss them) into this one fireball real easy. Then once that wave stops, just lob the (huge) fireball away ;) I'll let you off though. First time I had no problems for some reason. Second time through, I got my ass kicked as well ;)

Land 5 is the real pain in the ass. I don't wanna think how many hours it would take to do it the good way. My good god that completed it went evil on the last town, then went back to being good. lol.

hehe. On the modes thing. I doubt I'll use them really either. If the AI is as good as it says it is (or even just as good as BnW's), then I'll be able to teach my creature to do most of what I want it to do without it having to become some sort of robot.
