For When I Get My New Graphics Card
The most graphically advanced game ive played so far is Rome Total War. I will buy a graphics card soon that will handle anything. What games have i missed of graphical importance?

Uhm...let's see
FarCry (if you didn't already play it)
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Doom³
Half-Life 2
Empire Earth II
Battle for Middle Earth
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
Vampire, the masquerade: Bloodlines
F.E.A.R. demo...must try that at full capabilities.
Pff...hard to think far back when it comes to games..it's not really been a top period for big-hitting stuff since RTW. But I think coming christmas will solve that problem.
EDIT: also, GTA: San Andreas, but that's graphically not exactly mindblowing

scratch doom3 from the list, i mean at max everything the game is still a big pile of shit, literally.
And if you decide to buy it, may i suggest you blindfold yourself before you start playing. Im sure that those who have played it know what i mean.

personally, I think
Far Cry
Riddick
HL2
the rest of those games are crap. :p BF2 is nice also. But you'll have to get used to being owned by me.

Warhammer was quite good. Battle for Middle Earth is very overrated, it's a mediocre RTS on a license it won't ever surpass.

Dude, Bloodlines was a great RPG! It had its flaws, sure, but it was still a good game. Kinda like KOTOR II: some seriously fucked up stuff, but still a pretty good game.

mmmm...Bloodlines was good, ok. But I can't replay it. That's what sucks about linear gameplay....I get bored BORED BORED. Anyway....fine, I'll give you bloodlines. Never played warhammer, so I can't comment.
As for KOTOR II...I still haven't gone back to it. Not sure if I will. It really irritated me, and the graphics are crap.

Hey Derf, for your general interest: Bloodlines is out on the budget line already. +- 10€ for a game like that is a steal, imho.

Thanks for that info. I was starting to thionk of how to get money for the actual games, because one things is buying the card, the other is forking out money for these game. I was considering...alternative sources, but i think one of the first games illl buy is Bloodlines. (After testing with all my current games).

Hehe, no problem.I think you might find that, even with the patches and new gfx card and all, Bloodlines' FPS will still drop pretty badly in certain places. It certainly wasn't system req-friendly programming, if you look at HL2 which ran much smoother with the same technology and, frankly, better graphics. But no matter, apart from that and the bugs (that have been patched), it's a great RPG.
Other tip: Morrowind GOTY is available in budget form as well, for a mere 5 quid. That's Morrowind+Tribunal+Bloodmoon. And it still stands well, even today. But it might be a bit stupid to buy it now with Oblivion coming, dunno.

Hehe, good choice. Other budget tips: Thief: Deadly Shadows is out for about 15€, 12 quid or something. That's nice.

Yeah.
I think its close to being the best card out at the moment for £300. In the end, i went for the Gecube X800XL 512. The 256 version was about £70 cheaper, but i just had extra cash to splash so i went for the 512. Mind you, theres no distinct advantage of having a 512MB card nowadays. Maybe in the future, we'll see. But in the future, i have the choice of going SLI!
