Post R-type 3 and other SNES games
Right i've been playing a few SNES games recently on an emulator, and oh my god games back then used to be so hard

R-types especially, it's like the hardest game ever, if i couldn't cheat and save it where ever i wanted i'd never ever get past the 2nd level on this thing, it's just way too hard

any of you either know or played this game?

it's one of those 2-D space shooting games, fantastic i tell ye

(i played FF6 too but i suspect none of you approve of that one )

I know of R-type, don't have it though. My snes sits behind me, got it a few months back, not many games. Whats wrong with FF6? I completed FF1.

Yup, i surely know R-type on SNES, had a similar game (2D space shooter, only more cartoonesk) unfortunately i decided in my foolish youth to sell my SNES.
Sigh.
But i know what you're talking about, try UN Squadron for example. Sooo damn hard. It could be it's on NES though. Also Zelda (on NES), man i just kept dying and dying, if you couldn't save and reload wherever you wanted i wouldn't have made it very far last time i played it.
I've played a couple of Final Fantasies myself a year ago or something. Dunno which ones though.

I used this site as a guide to pick my games to play. I read a bit about what it's about etc. Good walkthroughs as well. Lots of fun RPG-ish games. Lost my download pages though, but i bet you can find those games yourself.
Another game i might recommand: Metroid.

green doors are superbombs (later in the game), pink doors are rockets (3) i believe. I played Super Metroid in that same period i mentioned as well, got nearly to the end i think in some boss fight, but as usual i stopped playing and never bothered to pick it up again.
