AT mines are my favorite, they make tanks into road blocks and sometimes the enemy has some trouble rerouting.

I forgot to laugh and make a necessary OCD comment about your pic before, so I'll do that first:  Crazy unemployed OCD dork! ;)

And no worries about dropping out. Me and Peltz actually owned the rest of the mission, with Peltz sniping and sneaking and me manning the submarine deck gun first and shooting everything left of the sub guards to shit, as well as manning a flak track later in and cleaning out 95% of all enemy units.

But then...we got screwed. :( Very silly really. Peltz bit it while my two guys were collecting the welding device to get into the sub, and as my men were walking towards the sub the guy holding the equipment got shot by the last freaking jerry still alive. Strangely, the game gave us a 'mission failed' even though my other guy was still very much alive. No idea what happened there, but Peltz told me it's happened to you guys before so...

Better luck next time for sure. Sorry for irritating you guys with my lack of voice comm too :P I was running around completely lost in between your coordinated sniping/demolition routine. Derf, you really owned those tanks. :) But at least I got a few rocket launcher shots in! ;)

Yes, in the mission where we have to shoot the general in the car. We got a mission failed when derf machinegunned the car like every time and the general got out of the car, mission failed, and then he just started walking back to the mansion.

I guess we could try next a map that is all about meat grinding. :D

I think I'll do a lot better at a meat grinding mission. :P Suicide tactics are my middle name! I may go down, but I'll take a bunch of jerries with me!! I love AT grenades...I find that they are often even more effective agaisnt infantry than the regular AP nade as well, simply because it implodes on impact and doesn't give them a chance to dive away.

Now I have to think about the beginning of the mission on Sunday, when I lobbed a grenade in Derf's feet after he shot the ground around me for a bit. :P

Stupid question perhaps, but can you control a tank with 2 or 3 players in direct control? I ask because I manned a mobile flak gun on Sunday with my two men, with one at the driving controls and the other reloading (and firing) the gun. Unfortunately, it's a 3-man operation so I couldn't move the gun left or right and had to aim by driving in strange angles (so the soldiers would be caught in the flak's fire). So, if Peltz had boarded the mobile flak gun too, would he have been able to move the gun left and right? since that would be what his soldier would 'do' in-game.

you can pull the pin on the normal grenades before throwing them and pull off crazy airbursts and stuff. Instead of simply aiming and clicking, hold down the left mouse button and youll see a little timer start ticking counterclockwise. you want to throw it at approx 19:30 position.

yes, throwing a nade at our feet right at the start of the mission sure was a good wake-up call. thanks for that you crazy mofo

as for the tank question... i dunno. i should think so.

The first thing i did on that mission was to swap out my ppsh SMG's for the nazi stg44's :) I dont actually know if there is any difference from gun to gun, but i love to think so. :D

lol. I mostly reach for the crazy weapons that take up half your inventory, like the heavy machine guns, rocket launchers and flamethrowers (muahahahhaa). :) I gotta hand it to you tho Derf, the way you kept pulling out nades and shooting rockets in that level was pretty impressive. It was as if you had a bottomless inventory...of course I know it was because you looted every dead man, woman and rabbit's inventory, but still. :P

Good tip on the nades! Now I know how to waste a band of 10 jerries running towards my defense line. What i'd do before was throw a nade, see them dive to the floor, then run out of the trench and pepper them with bullets while they were down and out. A real man!!

yeah, looting is great fun. i like to have an abundance of grenades, since i sometimes need a dude to throw like 5 or 6 in one go to flush out a pesky kraut.

i sometimes dont make good use of heavy weapons though, like AT guns. I often bypass them in preference of taking out a target quicker with more risk, than slowly with less risk. Which explains why i dont like to use tanks much. They're great, but cos theyre easy to spot, you need to be extra careful.

True, tanks can be a curse or a blessing. If you're unlucky enough to get a direct hit in your engine and the thing blows up you're pretty well fucked. In most cases though, you can still climb out with your crew...so as long as it isn't your last crew I'd take the risk. :)

Any idea if tank crew is actually 'better' at commanding a tank than regular infantry? I never noticed a difference, but this game is so detailed that there may very well be one.

Shall we make an appointment for somewhere this week guys? With this weather I don't spend as much time on steam as before to hail people, so proper planning would be prudent.

I'm free, but generally under the thumb of the weather.

Shall we say if it's a weekday, Friday?
If it's weekend Saturday?

Peltz is +4 or +5 ahead of us, so let's consider we may need to play around 7pm or something.
