ugh... I bought the game and gifted it to shiny several weeks back, but now it's not showing up in her uninstalled games list. Steam shows I sent it to her, but it was never redeemed. However, it won't let me resend it to her because she already owns it. *sigh* Guess it's time to involve Steam tech support. Pain in my ass.

I've had this happen a few times. I think you can manually activate it through the menu. Takes some searching but it's there somwhere. I'm not at home so I can't tell you exactly how right now, but I think it was under something like "redeem guest passes and gifts" or something.

Not much help I know, but it may still be better than contacting steam support. ;)

hm.....couldn't find it, but what I ended up doing was just emailing it to her instead of gifting it via steam. She was then able to open the email and link it into her steam account. It's preloading now.

yea, I checked that from her Steam, but there wasn't anything there. No worries, got it figured out regardless.

Both of our games should be preloaded now, but we both have class tonight and tomorrow night, so Friday'll be the earliest we can do anything.

Well we did a quick ping test with ox. It is now official, my modem is a turd, without hamachi i was hovering at 430 ping and with hamachi it dropped down to 130. Furthermore, every port above 20k (which includes all the important games) are (b)locked regardless of the isp and port forwarding. So tomorrow i will take it up with the ISP, if they wont give me a new modem ill just cancel the contract and rejoin so i get the new equipment for free and a free month if i subscribe for 2 years which ok since no one else offers internet here in the woods anyway.

ah, that sucks, sorry to hear it. Not like we didn't know your internet sucked.

My chick and I played some SSII today. Fun. Shiny even liked it. We played on normal, so it wasn't a huge challenge or anything. Some of those creatures are freakin' huge though...shazam.

Well I wasn't really planning on cranking up the difficulty above normal but on a 6-man game we may want to anyway (depending if the amount of enemies scales towards the amount of players) in order to not compeltely breeze through the game. We'll see. :)

I hope you bitches haven't played too far yet because I wouldn't want to miss out on the collective WTF moments. :D

haha, sorry. We won't do it again. BTW, joining a game seems to be a bit of a pain in the ass. I created a server, but couldn't figure out how to join Shiny to it. I accidentally clicked "quick game" and, magically, it chose my server. *shrug* Game was fun and lag-free, though anything less on a gigabit network would be pretty sad.

We got several levels into it from the beginning. *shrug* It's not like there's a story. :P We hadn't quite picked up all the available weapons when I had to quit for school.

Oh, in that case you're gonna love the Cannon. Aye derf? ;-)

Re: joining servers...there's an invite system in steam. R-click steam friend, invite to game, that should make it easier for everyone to find each other. :)

oh, didn't think about the invite thing. Good call.

We did get the cannon. I'm looking forward to this. I noticed that explosives near you hurt you, but explosives near your friend don't hurt them... so I'm thinking lots of crossfire and covering one another.

Yeah, FF is standard off in co-op. But you CAN turn it on, which would be hilarious with 6 people. There are other options like limited respawn or unlimited spawning. And character model choices! :D
