Thank ya kindly, good sir. Last entry apparently is a Christmas poem about WFA...no wonder the project died, hehehe.

Just had my first taste of Doom III...and I must say; it's pretty neat. Graphics are nothing short of amazing, even at medium (high went just too slow maybe it's better on Nvidia cards). And SCARY so far. I'm not far along in the game, but I've already freaked out twice now. Like, I walk towards a small steel stair, and as I approach it a monster behind it bends some steps and lurches towards me. One of them fireball-shooters from the Doom I and II, it was.
The fact that you can't use your flashlight and weapon at the same time makes for good stuff too. Some nice touches to the game, with a personal 'notepad' that can download audio, video and texts from pc's and play them for you, etc.
But, it froze up and crashed on my like 5 times now, resulting in reboots. I suppose a patch will have to fix that. Bleh.
Only one screenshot so far, and not really an amazing one either

Ok, I know what was up with the freezing, gfx drivers shit. Downed the special beta-drivers for Doom 3 from Ati, and works like a charm now. Having fun. Good to see that you're not drowning in ammo either, makes for good suspense.

Screenshot time...i don't think there's anything spoilerish in them. There are barely any opponents in them, heh. Usually cos they prefer jumping in your neck and scare the living crap outta you.
Not really fantastic, any of these, but bleh.

I think it is obvious by now that DARKNESS is the key word in Doom 3. That and the fact that i'm too lazy to light out the pics properly.

lol, is your birthday coming up as well? Anyway...been playing some more Doom, I think I'm nearing the end, if i'm not there already. It's kinda funny how you get accustomed to the graphical beauty. I've been playing it some 20 minutes ago, and when i'm writing this i think "i should start it again to REALLY examine this/that". Which I won't do, cos I've been playing for hours, heh. Driven by lots of cola and candy. (I don't smoke or drink coffee/tea, so coke and sugar get me all psyched )
The screenshots don't do the game much justice btw...when you see everything moving, the monster models, the flickering lights, the super sounds, that's what makes it a great game. Not AMAZING, but really great. It's got a lot of the original Doom-feel, in a way. After getting used to the game for a while I'm now reacting like a pro to everything lurking in the shadows, often shooting stuff to pieces in mid air with the faitful shotgun, as they lurch themselves to me. Makes me all fuzzy and nostalgic inside.
There are a lot of messages, audio logs and video disks you find that slowly unravel the story, and that add a lot to the atmosphere of the game. So far i was never scared at a so-called 'psychological' lvl, mostly things suddenly standing behind me or jumping from a dark corner...I'm thinking of playing a second time through at night, with sound wide open. That should be complete fun.
Erh, enough blabla...anyone afraid that I might spoil stuff for them by posting new screens? Like, monsters and shit. And locations.

Finished Doom 3, was good fun. Better than painkiller, which i already liked. I found a solution that suits both my laziness and optional spoiler fears of ppl, I'll just rar my screens and attach them to this post. Have fun with them...remember, i'm only on 'medium' graphics quality. And sorry if some pics are dark...I lost my flashlight in a certain part (which was a MAJOR ripoff )
m, had to weed out a few pics cos the rar exceeded the allowed 1 mb limit.
