I dont even consider the COD series to be anything other than a MP game. Sure it has single player but I think I only play COD4MW SP. Any time I ever bought a COD game it was for MP.

I think we can all agree that console gamers are the root of this problem.
(seriously though, this is all a result of the consolization of the games market. What market doesn't care about dedicated servers, mods, game longevity and has higher priced games? Yeah...thought so)

I can't believe pricing. PC is £40. Not even Sims 3 tried that and they're a total rip off! And yet PS3/360 is only £45.
Spent all day looking at CoD boxes. Half our shop is now CoD or CoD accessories. I'm sick of the sight of it already and I gotta go in for the midnight launch now! Ah well, time and a half pay.

To think what one well-placed acid bomb could cause for damage in that line... Same for the GTA and WoW launches. *cringes*
I'd warn you to don your biohazard suit first tho Pev! I'm nice like that.

CoD launch was insane. I've never seen so many people in our store at once. Seriously musta been 100-150 trying to cram themselves in. But we got rid of them all in 50 mins and took more than we'd usually take on a Saturday!
Was quite amusing, our centre has shutters between two stores on the high street, then an undercover but outdoor 'run' up to the centre, then the automatic doors. Between the shutter and the automatic doors is a side door to get round the back of the centre, which is where we all parked, and as we came out of there to go through the doors it was like we were celebrities! Huge crowd against the shutters just started cheering and yelling "Yaaaay! Sell us the game! Woooooo!"

Apparently Gametrailers is a huge fan of Modern Warfare as well.

/expresses renewed hope of IW choking on their console moneys

What are the PC sales numbers like? Pev? Just curious... this could be the game to break Infinity Ward of even making PC games. Whatever, if they want to treat us like second-class citizens, I'd rather they just stop making games for us altogether. Any void that opens up will be quickly filled by someone else. There's no lack of game developers out there.

Well last night we had one person ask for a pc copy. They weren't allowed it coz they didn't preorder as we were only sent (as a store) the copies for preorders on PC, i.e. a grand total of...
10.
Now bear in mind that on the consoles we had
360 normal edition: 400
360 vanity edition: 475 (game exclusive, normal but with 5 gamer pics)
360 hardened edition: ~30
360 veteran edition: ~20 (hardened plus a figurine of Soap McTavish)
PS3 normal: 400
PS3 hardened: ~15
PS3 veteran: ~6
Making a grand total of just over 1300 copies in total. 10 pc copies looks pretty shit.
Preorders showed the same trend; 10 on pc, about 300 on 360 and about 200 on ps3.

Sounds good. I'm betting the PC gets ignored in future iterations. Oh well, whatever, I'm not playing an FPS on a console. Maybe I should start a game development house focusing on first person shooters for the PC.

High priority release appear to be a problem for steam. But i guess thats ok when a company is pretty much in a monopolic state.

Console gamers buying FPS games arent really gamers. They are posers.

Did you guys have a chance to read the plot summary on wikipedia? I'm not gonna play it anyway so I didn't care and checked it out (at the advice of others) and well, it's absolutelty fucking insane. It makes the Red Alert storylines seem believeable.
They start out with something ok, and then...wow, just wow. Complete and utter batshit. And that for a shooter who poses as the "real world shooter" par excellence. Lmao.
