It has been expanded into a total guide, including the "ultimate system" and older cards: http://www2.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjQ0

Tnx J. And 11b, it's prolly cos of the "spooky shooter" character of Doom 3 that they did it like that...that and the huge system requirements.
At least we know that it won't be a frenzied orgasm of explosions like Quake or UT then.

Im HOPEING the 4v4 is only for the demo. I mean, to make it a good MP it need to be at least 6v6 or something.

I read this in a review on gamespot.
Doom 3's got some other neat tidbits that have stood out. Find out about those next, and also get our quick impressions of the multiplayer mode. We've already participated in 16-player matches, even though nothing more than four-player skirmishes had been expected.

Mm...judgin by that it has the Unreal-problem: phenomenal graphics, but 'only' above-average gameplay. I say 'Bleh' to that. Still, 8 is ok.

yea, from the reviews I've picked up, the gameplay is basic FPS stuff. With amazing graphics and some actual terror thrown in. That's fine, I wasn't honestly expecting anything revolutionary as far as gameplay's concerned. That'll be for the games built on the engine that're coming out over the next few years.

exactly! Except that quake IV is still being created by Raven. I doubt it's going to use the same engine as Doom3, but I may be smoking that rock again.

I will die of shock if WFA makes any kind of a come back. The problem was not the mod, but the people that played it (cough pice cough).

lol. Pice and some of the devs. No offense, but they set themselves up by even bothering with the pice slush pile. If they'd been smart enough to just not go there, all major issues would have been avoided.
Doesn't matter, q3's a dead engine. quakeIV is not going ot run on the q3 engine... no way. It'd be suicide. I think they're building a new engine, probably one capable of larger areas and more people than doom3. My guess, at least.

Can someone enlighten me wtf WFA exactly is? After hearing you guys talk about for a long time I still haven't figured out what it is exactly...a mod? Total conversion? Official release? etc...only thing i know is that it has to do with Quake III and is named Weapons Factory Arena.

It's a mod for q3. But a very extensive mod, virtually a total conversion.
