Lol ironic choice of words Ox, I believe it is Sims with the Unlucky and/or Loser traits that tend to be given a second chance at life, mainly due to the fact death happens to them often and as mention, Grim Reaper finds it amusing to continue to watch them.

Haha, ok, I guess that makes some sense. My 'unlucky' sims rarely died from accidents though...but that may be because all my stuff in the house is of the best quality and made "unbreakable" by some ancestor sim who was handy. So they never try to fix anything.
Of course, I did put a fireplace into each of the 4 bedrooms in my new uber villa, so I guess the times they are a-changin'.

And this, my friends, is why I dislike the sims.
Ok, so I've been playing for around... 5 hours? Maybe. And at the end of that, all going well, I'd have well... nothing to show for it.
But, that's all going well. About 4 minutes ago, it froze. It didn't recover.
Was there an autosave I thought?
Bugger was there.
Lesson learned. Save your game or don't play it.
Pah waste of my time.

If your saved game is corrupt try this!
Close the game/launcher then go to My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves
Remove the 'townname'.sims3 file from that folder. (you can delete it if you wish, it's corrupt anyway)
Rename the 'townname'.sims3.backup to 'townname'.sims3
'Townname' obviously should be which ever town your game is in, so Sunset Valley or Riverview.
Load the game and your save should be working again.
But no No AUTO SAVE!! lol

Lol you were very unlucky Mr Mole, I've yet to have a freeze or a crash. Anyhoo I'm still playing but not as much as I was. I'm not really in a gaming mood recently so it's nice to have something that I can just put in the background occasionally and not really pay huge attention to.

EA announced the new expansion for Sims 3, World Adventures. Will be out mid November.
Sorta like Sims Vacation or Sims 2 Bon Voyage. Was hoping for something like Apartments or Seasons. Now that I think of it, they haven't had many original Ideas for expansions just rewrites.

Not to be an ass, but isn't that pretty much the entire point of the series? Cashing in on the expansions? I was pretty annoyed that some things that were in the Sims 1&2 didn't appear to make it into The Sims 3, like the jacuzzi's. But I'm sure it'll turn up in some expansion though.
The Sims is a clever, fun franchise, but I very much resent the moneyfarming. Unless it turns out to be the best thing since sliced raptor jesus I will never buy one of the expansions. But that's just me.

sliced raptor jesus? Is that some Belgian culinary delight I'm unaware of? Probably made out of horse.
At any rate, wait a few years and all the expansions will be bundled together for $5. Can you design your own furniture and crap yet, or is that still locked out? If the latter...lame. Obviously trying to protect their income.

Custom meshes/ content is out there. It's not locked. Just takes time for people to start making them. Lots of clothes an hair is out. Only 1 fur iture set that I have seen so far.
I'll be getting the expansion the day it drops!
