Apparently the terrorists in Turkey learned their lesson from far cry gameplay, wound and wait for the others to rush in for help and then take them all out.
They caused a small explosion in Istanbul which injured few, then people rushed in for help and just out of curiosity went to look what happened and then a second bigger bomb went off hurting alot more.

Not really original. The bomb blasts in Bali did the same thing.

oh, btw, if you preorder FC2 from Gamestop you get some extra missions. It comes with 6 bonus missions for a total of 3 more hours of gameplay, at least according to this article.

heh...knowing the games industy, we'll just end up downloading those exclusive extra missions 3 months later for free. Remember the BG2 extra merchants...imagine all those people getting assraped in the beholder lairs without the shield of balduran. Unethical I say!!
Of course you could just use the cloak of reflection.../BG2 geek mode off

heh..I just summoned lots of skeleton-things and had them take the beholders out. Damn, I don't even remember what they were called... Skeleton Warriors? Something.
/sigh
Dragon Age needs to come out.
I'm still stoked about FC2 though. I'm thinking this may be the game I was hoping Crysis would be. Not that I dislike Crysis, but this is the sandbox game I'm wanting.

Skeleton warriors, yeah. And sure, we could summon up the intelligence to take out the beholders in some other way than straight-out rushing them, but I was thinking of the poor throngs of retards who would be at a loss when fighting the Unseeing Eye (who, incidentally, is a bastard no matter how you fight him).
I try to deny the existence of Dragon Age, lest I be refresing its website every day to see "if it's done yet".
Talking about sandbox games though, I heard STALKER: Clear Skies is supposed to be pretty darn good. Like, what the game was supposed to be before they started cutting out features etc for various reasons.

Oh really? It's out, I think. I may have to pick it up. I heard it wasn't all that great, but maybe I need to do some more trolling around for reviews.

Really cool developer's explanation on how they attempt to make you 'feel' like the main character in-game, through various means.

I say HAWT to popping dislocated limbs back in place! This next trailer features many goodies, among them another animation not shown in the previous one: the main character burning off leeches with a cigar.

Far Cry 2 is gonna be brutal.

At a convention I mention in another post, they got to sit with the dev's of FarCry 2 as they did a demo for them.
I don't know how much of this you already know, but...
1. The Weather system is real - it might rain, it might not, it might snow.
2. The Fire system is real - the fire will spread in the direction the wind blows, so you might smoke out some enemies, but block of a path you needed, etc.
3. The AI is needs based - if the enemies are too hot, they will rest. If they're tired, they will sleep. If they gotta take a dump... well you know.
Cool stuff. Apparently, the fire looks as real as it acts, too.
The fire will spread slower in rain, or even be extinguished by it if it's small enough of a fire or heavy enough rain etc.

I just had a chance to watch those videos you linked and man, they look awesome. I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm thinking it may be one of the best games of the year. Stoked!

Haha, yeah, after watching that (and knowing what Crytek did with the jungle of the original FC) it's hard NOT to get excited. Jamming guns, immersive world, realistic environment, brutal graphical violence, realistic fire, strong AI and tons of freedom.
Did you know though that they took out carnivores? Originally there were supposed to be lions and hyenas and whatnot, but they were afraid that it might unbalance the game if the AI went wild and they ate all the other animals and started turning on humans like there's no tomorrow.
Imagine sneaking through the savannah and getting circled by a pack of lions. Pwned! I guess I would make sure there's always a car within arms' reach.
Anyway, only til the 21st of October before it releases (24 in EU).

heh... gotta love it when your AI is smart enough it could break the gameplay.
"There's nothing out here except mangled corpses. What the hell is.... oh crap, on that hill... it's 500 hyenas! They're lining up! Oh my god, they bit my tires flat! AAAH!"
Anyway, reminds me of a story about Black & White where the creature just stood there. They debugged it to figure out what was wrong and it turns out it saw its foot and was trying to figure out how to eat it.
