Well since UFO: Aftermath and UFO: Aftershock were such a let down I'm willing:

1. To give any game a chance that has a fairly decent playability even though the graphics aint that good. (xcom has outdated graphics but i still play it from time to time)

2. Most games with high end graphics suck bollocks anyway (except GW and Oblivion ofcourse)

3. Due to lack of decent games, im defenatly gonna try it.

Ever play Riddick? Great graphics, great game. :p Anywy, yea, most games suck period...regardless of graphics. But a game's graphics sucking sometimes helps it suck alot more than if the graphics had been decent.

Anyway, I'll still keep an open mind since I loved Xcom as much as you guys, I'm just afraid it will be yet another disappointment in a long chain.

I have a new one to add to my list, though I don't think that it'll be out til next year.

Sacred 2. The first one has kept me addicted for 2 years, only game to have done that apart from BnW. I know one of the guys who works on it as well, and since i beta tested the expansion i apparently have a good chance at testing #2... but he told me the specs its looking at being run on... and i'm looking at about a £700 upgrade on current prices  but sacred is worth it ;)

recently was introducted to this

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

It has alot of the things that attracted me to Star Wars Galaxies (before SoE fux0red it). Well, other than Star Wars, but hey.

Anyway, looks like real, serious, honest-to-god player crafting... a real player-based economy... player housing ... player vehicles ... looks like a wide open world (SOOOOO sick of small, closed in worlds like GW and DDO).

For anyone interested, check their FAQ...looks like a crapload of playable races and classes. http://www.vanguardsoh.com/faq.php I believe it's set for a Q3 2006 release. SoE is, unfortuanetly, distributing it from what I understand, but the developers are apparently very jealously guarding it from being fuxorated.

Anyway, I'm excited. Graphics (from more recent builds) look pretty nice too. Nice foliage. :)

Mmmm, it definitely looks cool, but I'm not sure how much I like monthly fee MMORPG's anymore. ;) I'm gonna check out the site and FAQ in any case.

Meanwhile, this comic appeared on PA a few days ago:

lol. apparently Vanguard was a disappointment at E3; i.e. it apparently looks like its EQ2 with nicer graphics. Not that that's a bad thing, I like EQ2, but you don't need a clone. So let's hope for the games sake that it isn't. A lot of the EU players of EQ2 have been threatening to leave for Vanguard coz our two servers get fuck all support, but since they went to SOE... won't really do much good as a protest strategy ;) I won't be bothering with it anyway, got myself Horizons to pay for currently.

yea, no worries, I understand. Ya bastards. :p

As I mentioned, though, it's got alot going for it. From serious crafting to player housing (and maybe player cities)... anyway, I'm still excited. :p

I think they should make civ5 based on a Google Earth-like interface.

good call 11b...Conan actually looks like it might be cool.

Quote:
One of the biggest differences between this MMO and most other fantasy worlds is that this one is made for a mature audience. There's no veil to cover sensitive eyes here. Conan's world was one of naked bodies covered only in the blood of their enemies. Players will enter the world to find a heavy helping of heavy handed violence, unabashed sexuality, and other mature themes. This is a dangerous and wicked world that Conan lived in full of people just trying to survive and live amongst gods, monsters, and men gone mad.

You can attack from a mount. Your damage is based on your momentum. You can have drunken bar pvp fights and you can cut the head off your enemies.

The e3 videos look good.
