The 7800GTX averages at about £50 over my budget. A bit like you said, Ox.
Im currently eyeing up lustfully the X850 XT PE. Its practically smack on the budget. Now i have to see if the manufacturers are any good.
There is one Sapphire version slightly over the budget. Ill find out if its worth it.

Okay im 90% decided.
Following the problems i have with dual-slot cards. I have decided not to mod my case and risk fucking everything up, instead im going for the only option available.
Seeing as X800XT PE's have vanished from the surface of the earth, ive been forced to go over-budget (no way am i going under budget).
Thanks to you Ox and BJ, im 90% certain to go for a Leadtek 7800GTX.
If you have any objections speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Lol sorry Oxy. Mind you, you have £100 more for condoms, beer and video games than me.
Do you think therll be any bottlneck issues:?
- P4 HT 3.0GHz 1MB cache 800fsb
- 1024MB DDR2 RAM 400MHz
Oh also, im a bit concerned about cooling the 7800GTX. I take it the heat will get pumped out the opposite side of the case slot and back into the centre of the machine?

Wasn't the 7800GTX one of the two-slot cards? In that case, doesn't the cooler take in and spit out the hot air out of the back of the case?

Nope its single slot, yay!
Itll blow air to the centre of the computer, where the main flow of air will just blow it out the back again.
I particularly like this page:http://www.leadtek.com/graphic.html

You whore...my x800xl slightly lags at the start of lvls at max detail and basic AA in FEAR. The slowmo fragging is still 1337, but not as 1337 as on that monster I'm sure.
