I gave this a smash.
For a September release, (If I'm correct) It's got a lot of work to be done. I don't recognise the dev name so as with what Ox said - if it's a big game from the small team, great!
Pros
Great Concept
Interesting Character development opportunities
Guns seem to work as expected
Good humour in the end of the demo
ConsForced locations in gameplay not forced correclty
Graphics seem a bit pants
Animation needs work
Seems to be missing the 'glue' to stick the game together
The parts where you're forced in to a certain area were just ill delivered. The first time was OK - you were being surrounded by Indians and then you were stuck with an arrow. But later on, it literally took the controls off you and forced you to walk there - rather than say being blocked in by the rest of your regiment or being yelled at for disobeying orders.
The animation on the arrows looked like some dodgy stop motion thing. Speaking of arrows - where did the arrow that nearly killed you go when you go through the teleporter? Or do you wake up some time later? I can't recall.
Short version, I very much agree with you all - if this game gives a bit more bang for it's buck it'll be a great title. Sure, no splinter cell, halo, crysis etc, but one of those titles that everyone should have played but most people won't. If it doesn't fix a couple of the issues at hand, it'll go down the drain
