Hmmh cant play CoD4 anymore, i get kicked because punkbuster sais unknown windows api process, error bla bla, but i havent installed or uninstalled anything, nor does any scan pick up any "shady" process.

I bought my CoD4 on Steam coz it was 250 EEK cheaper than here in the shops.

Its almost funny, if not pathetic. I managed to put in a few hours of gameplay today. But then i wanted to change my custom build and had disconnect from server, when i reconnected (while having not quit the game, just went to the main menu) again got the unknown windows API process. I have serious doubts that this unknown API process is actually steam.exe itself.

Lol, I just got past the assassination level. Just on the bit where you've got to hold until your chopper comes (Chernobyl)

Awesome.

Veteran mode sucks.

That level is hard as hell. Holding out for the chopper rescue is insanely difficult. Laying in the field with guys walking by you was insane as well. I actually dislike most of that level. It's just way off. I don't know how many dogs' necks I had to snap in that level.

I was right, turned out steam ingame friend manager was the cause for punkbuster kicks. If you have steam running, disable the bastard.

DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING.
No major spoilers though.

I thought that level was brilliant! The part in the field with the squadron that walk right past you is awesome :D

There's an achievement on the 360 for doing that level in 1 bullet (Everything up until the assassination) and I did in 2. I'll go back on normal difficulty to do it.

Hold for the helicopter was hard. I planted claymores everywhere, then hid in the shack on the left hand side of where you put the Captain. Once their helicopters arrived, I fell back to just next to the captain. Took down as many as I could whilst they were repelling out of the copters, then fell back to behind the dodgems. I positioned myself so I could see the captain and I was looking over the 'edge' of the dodgem rides floor. The enemies can only come around 1 way that way, all you had to do was shoot them carefully and choose carefully when you reloads.

Thanks to the position I was in, if I miss, the captain normally got them.

However, I'm now stuck on

The part just after you take out the armoured Cars in the launch area. You head down through the vents. Through some corridors. Then down some stairs on to some kind of corridor with storage each side.

The objective is to put the codes in to the launch control device before impact. However, I can get all the way up that part of the corridor with about 5 minutes to spare, then I get to the next part and theres a corridor dead ahead packed with crates and a door to the left and right with enemies in. I can't get ANYWHERE :( Some people have reported getting a checkpoint there, but I don't get one. I just have to do the whole thing again.

I got stuck there for a bit as well. I ended up tossing a lot of grenades. One forward to clear the forward passage, then down the side passages to try and keep from being shot in the back while you charge down one or the other. I think I used the shottie here... once you get into the sides it's not THAT bad. The problem is getting in one without getting shot from the other.

Well, I've just finished the game.

How the heck do you do the mission after the credits?! Zomg! 60 seconds? A joke!

EDIT: YES! YES! GOD YES! I DID IT!

Completed everything on veteran including the secret level :)

The secret level wasn't all that hard. The hardest part was shooting that guy in the face. :p Good stuff though. It was really fun and the Airplane (movie) reference was great.

Don't call me Shirley?

And not that hard?! It took me four hours to complete it on Veteran! FOUR FRIGGIN' HOURS! It only took 7-8 to finish the game! But still, it would have been easy with more time. I had no problem shooting the guy in the head though.

lol, crazy bastard. It's not bad, I'll admit. Just too short. Did you unlock all the cheats? I only got probably half of them and they weren't worth more than maybe 5 minutes of entertainment.

Yeah, I got them all.

"Really bad year" is fun, but the best ones are cluster bomb (each grenade splits in to 6 or so other grenades after exploding) and the Rag something war something. The game is sped up dramatically, and funny old timey film music plays with old timey film effects, but no other sound.

It's the multiplayer that's really got me hooked, I got from level 1 to level 26 in pretty much one session, and this is the 3rd time through the levels for me. It's mental.

IMO the multiplayer was even weaker than the SP.

I mean the maps play out pretty much the same. 0 variety aside of 1 or 2 maps.
