lol glad you're enjoying it Satis. I'm on Land 5 now (with the Japanese) and I'm actually a good god right now, and was hugely surprised to find I'd taken all but one town in about an hour. But i need 11k of impressiveness so might take awhile with the last one ;)

I've only experienced the annoying mine thing that you're on about, none of the other bugs. I don't have crashes either. Ah well.

and thanks Derf, that clears it up a bit. Just kinda threw me off with the evolution thing since there is no evolution in the game ;) But I get what you mean now. Never thought of it like that, since you can't directly control the villagers, so I really do see it like a God rather than a dictator. Sure, I can scare them and kill them, but I can't actually make them go out and do x action. Whereas something like AoE you just click and point. Admittedly you can't really be evil in that, but to me that would be more of a dictatorship game. Whereas now, if someone wants to go bomb my enemy, thats not my fault. They just happen to love me too much ;) hehe

but still, thanks for giving me a new perspective on stuff. I just like having the lil freaks at my mercy ;)

heh...interesting you haven't experienced any of those issues. I may be tempted to rip/reinstall my graphics subsystem.

Interesting take on things, Derf. But isn't the whole point of god to meddle? Of course, that backs my whole opinion on God being a fabrication in the real world, but bleh.

BTW, that fight video is great. Man...my creature is so small compared to yours. :( I need to get mine all buff and shit.

lol well he's about age 3, and hovers around 100% fitness, 10% fatness and 95% muscle. He basically does nothing but play with his voodoo doll, stomp on enemy platoons, attack enemy buildings, eat villagers and occassionally gather stuff (which i've smacked himf or but he tries to sneak off and do it when he's bored so i let him). Oh and he likes to weightlift trees, rocks and villagers, and also to kick trees.

Satis, no clue whats causing those bugs lol. It's an odd game, much like Sacred. Some people can run it perfectly, others can't run it at all, others get huge bugs, some get a few tiny bugs :S Let's hope they patch up quite soon.

Well, what's the point of god if it isn't to fuck with his creations. I mean, the old testament god did it all the time...smite this, smite that, rain of frogs, blah blah blah.

Anyway...the game is bugging the hell out on me.

I was assaulting the main enemy city in the norse land...basically it was my creature and some units of men vs his creature...my creature got beat. :( However...my creature falls to the ground and I get some mixed signals. So I hit L for leash...and I control his creature. I even had him bash down his own gate and stuff.

But obviously that's unplayable, so I quit. Also, the game is real laggy...every couple second it jitters. Basically, I'm really getting frustrated. The game itself is great, but the bugs are starting to kill it for me.

btw...did you know you can play with the lionhead logo at the beginning? The one with the little dots acting like liquid? Just click and drag...fun stuff. :p

yeah lol, found it out on my first load. I figured you could, since you could play with the LH logo in the original (was made up of floating dots and you could 'swirl' them with your mouse).

haha, ok...I dunno if I ever noticed that about the first one.

Anyway, I played again last night and it played ok. Still jittery, and one of my beaches sprouted some strange spikes for no apparent reason, but no game-killing bugs. I conquered the Norse and moved on to the Japanese. So far I'm doing pretty well, though I really don't understand the whole forcing thing. I can't beat that silver scroll, since I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to be doing. The fact it's not inside my influence may be part of the reason.

I taught my little baby how to use fireball and lightning (I don't even know how to do that personally)...he still hasn't used the fireball. :( But he's used lightning several times...he likes that one. hehehh. ZAP! Lots of little deaths. Great stuff. He loves to gather grain and wood for my people, he likes to eat enemy corpses, he LOVES stomping on enemy platoons....ahhh...what a wonderful little baby.

Sucks about the bugs satis, thus far I've had no bugs other than bad pathfinding an two CTD's. And both CTD's were at points that I'd not saved it for ages.

Just got on to land.. 7? I think 7. Anyway, Shit, some bastardy shit happens on that level.

Ahwell.

Good game, but the creature from BnW was so much better.

I never understood in BnW how to stop your creature from eating villagers, no matter what i did, it would still eat them like they were lollypops or something.

lol you gotta follow him around and slap him silly everytime he attempts it. After 5 or 6 beatings, he'll get the idea ;)

my creature only eats enemy villagers. It only took one really good beating to get him to listen in this game. B&W was a little less predictable.

I kinda have mixed emotions on that. It's less frustrating, but less fun too, sortaw. :p Ah well, I'm still digging the game.

BTW...I'm still on the Japanese island and have him down to his main city and a small town right next to it. I was wondering what he was doing, nad it seems he's been stockpiling military units like crazy. So I sent in my creature to do some stomping.

My creature smashed a squad that was outside the wall (ZAP! all dead) then hit a wall a bit. He got pissed at archers shooting at him...he threw a fireball over the wall, frying an amazing number of enemy. He then walked through the way (sigh, bug) and started stomping, then got totally owned. His health went from full to empty in no time. Still, he probably annihilated half the dude's army. I'll probably keep doing that until his army is a bit more manageable in size, then make my final move.

I still can't get the forcing thing, even though I have influence there now. I hold downt he left mouse button to get the 'woooo' noise, move the mouse real fast at the rock...and nothing happens. Either I'm bugged or I'm not getting it. Grrrrr.

I also wish instant miracles still existed. And I wish you could still make miracle food, miracle wood and miracle ore. And I wish your creature could still watch what you do and learn from you. He doesn't seem to really learn by example any more.

I've come to a conclusion. Creatures are pointless. I relied on my creature in #1. I ignore it now. Unless I'm being attacked and don't have archers on my walls yet. I have no frigging clue what my tiger has been doing for the last 5 lands.

I agree with pevil.

And I too don't really get the land forcing thing. Though, when I've tried it, I've managed to get it so that I can build a path on a place the I could previously not build a path, but I didn't actually notice any change other than the grass and flowers disspearing.

I hate to say it, this game is a dissapointment compared to BnW one.

EDIT: I finished it last night, btw.

and I'm on the last land. I'll finish it tonight. And I'll post a review. And it won't be a great one.

Game is great as a standalone game. Anyone who loved the first one will be hugely disappointed in it. I am. It sucks ass that I've waited 4 years and the original was better. They wasted too much time on the amazing graphics.
