Played about 30 mins of this game so far.

I picked my character very reluctantly. There wasnt really one that suited me at all so i went for ... *tries to remember name* ... bah, that kindred that can do blood spells.

Anyway, my first impressions arent exactly hot. The graphics are pretty poop, and worse still they chugg. I dont know why.

I dont think ill be playing this game much more.

the game ran fine on my system. The graphics aren't jaw dropping, but they're decent enough, imo.

Yeah, wtf is up Derf? My x800xl can run it perfectly smooth with all guns blazing.

You have to install the official 1.2 patch first, and then make sure you install the unofficial 1.7 patch!

http://www.gamershell.com/download_10582.shtml

Troika (the production house) is no more, so some fans took over the bughunting and have been releasing patch updates ever since (which are all very good work too). I highly recommend you get them, it will improve your gameplay tremendously.

And you picked a Tremere eh? Interesting choice. Look out though, they're pretty tough to play with...their blood magic is powerful but you (duh) need a lot of blood which isn't always easy. (sewers anyone ;) )

I actually installed the game a day ago again, to see how it would be on a pc that doesn't need such long loading times etc. Malkavian again. It's actually still good fun, third time through...i like the atmosphere, but hey. This is one of those games you love or hate, I guess.

I don't think it should matter much tbh...I did the same and it doesn't chug for me. On full detail and everything and 1024x something.

fyi, unofficial patch 1.8 is out.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/vtmb/dow ... id=6136280

Quote:
This is an unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines by Troika Games. It is build upon Dan Upright's great unofficial oma patches, whose readme is included with some minor corrections added.

To install it extract this archive into your game folder keeping the directory structure intact and backup any files being overwritten if you want to remove it later.

This patch attempts to fix many bugs and improve other things but no guarantees are made, since not everything could be tested. It can be installed easily on top of the official 1.2 patch from Troika Games.

Confirmations of fixes marked with a "*" would be nice, also reports of any other problems, glitches and non-crashing bugs that have been missed up until now.

v1.8
----
Continued adjusting locations names by changing bus and sewer maps.
Restored female Sabbat and put three into the first Hollowbrook map.
Corrected a wrong dialogue option for female Malkavians with Nadia.
Made cemetery quest easier and fixed Romero raising female firearms.
Removed unused subdirectories on two of the Kamikazi Zen computers.
Fixed several dialogue errors regarding Beckett, Flayton and Hatter.
Corrected dialogue getting cut of at Fu Labs for Nosferatu players.
Placed Pearl of Dubai and other cut items in pawnshop and elsewhere.
Added the missing Dodge II manual to second Giovanni Mansion level.
Created Justicar guards at Giovanni Mansion and fixed a synchro bug.
Put the unused male asian nurse model into the Santa Monica clinic.
Fixed Carson's appartment key not being removed when it's been used.
Corrected formatting of a few haven pc emails and the Sin Bin note.

Bah...you missed out on a good game man. :P No matter, with Oblivion coming up we will all have enough RPG to last for a few months.
