Think again. Back in the 70's the enviromentalist wackos thought the world was "Global Cooling." lol Link |

Mm, i think you can't shove the whole global warming discussion aside based on this single article. A big problem is that with ice ages and such, you're talking on really looooong time scales, while this warming up effect is just something of a few years or decades let's say. So it's hard to find solid evidence that the fact that the temperature is rising isn't a normal weather effect but instead a result of the human influence on nature, weather, blabla. Fact remains that we can't live on like there's nothing going on. The Kyoto treaty wasn't perfect maybe, but something has to be done, and that's got nothing to do if your environmentalist or not. |

Temperature has always fluctuated over the ages, the difference now is that the temperature goes up far too fast. On the other hand the is a chance that the Warm Gulfstream (dunno if that's the English name), wich now flows past Europe and warms it, will in the future bend to the west earlier, making the north pole colder, lowering the sea level again, and then the ice would reflect more energy, so global warming would be less. But off course this is a big if, if we want to be sure we need to decrease our CO2 and Methane (sp) emission drasticly. |

You guys....To point is Global Warming is some bs that the tree hugger thought up because they hate SUV's. There is no global warming. And the fact that in the 70's they thought the world was cooling just proves that point. Global cooling, global warming, it has a name its called SUMMER and WINTER! |

I'm not a "treehugger", but do you have any idea what goes on in our atmosphere 11bravo? A lot of exhaust fumes that go in the air disturb the balance there and create other molecules that also disturb balance etcetera etcetera. I could give you an over 20 pages overview from all unnatural chemical reactions that occur, reactions that create unhealthy (carcinogene) molecules, molecules of which they have no clue right now what they will do with our environment ... but i doubt you want to see that. ![]() |

The theory behind the global warming seems credible. However, its just as easy to say that these slight increases in temperature may have something to do with the suns behaviour. |

Derf, I feel like it just you and me man....The only 2 people in this forum who can think for ourselves.

Nopez. Kinda like SUV's. They make life so much easier. Your problem is that you can't think in nuances. Either it's white or it's black. Noticed the same thing in your attitude towards the war. And when you think in nuances, you see that although SUV's are handy, they're also bad for the environment. And maybe we should take measures to *reduce* the amounts of the stuff. But of course thi sis all left tree-hugging talk invented by Commie loonies trying to take away your god-given rights... ![]() I'm sorry man. You strike me as a very simplistic person. |

And you make my point for me. I only believe in truth. And yes I am simple. I simply believe in facts not liberal media or some shit they show on MTV. I also dont believe some crafty pictures a retarded kid could draw up. http://ctruth.com/pages/editorials/bubb ... 6cow.html# http://www.oism.org/pproject/s33p36.htm |

If you read my first post again, you see i already mentioned the fact that since you're talking very little temperaturedifferences on a big time scale, it's easy for adversaries of the global warming effect to state: The answer may be fluctuations in solar activity. So you could doubt the evidence on both sides, but since it's neither black or white .. . The internet is full of scientific reports that back up either the global warming effect, or deny it. Oh and you don't have to take my word for it, i didn't write the whole book, i only had to study this stuff. Apart from this global warming theory stuff, another reason why SUV's should be halted is the simple fact that the worldreserve of oil (that has been found and is likely to be found) will only last for maximum 30 years or something, if we continu to use it at the same rate. *edit* could somebody place shortcut that first link from 11b, it's too big and it fucks up the size of the page on my screen So how do you stand towards the ozon layer hole 11b? |
