I'm pretty amused by the AD&D dungeon master's guide. |

I've read them all but Snow Crash, Godel Escher Bach, and The Visual Display of Quantitative Information. I definitely plan on reading Snow Crash and possible Visual Display, since building a good UI seems to be one of my weak points. |

You read the AD&D guide? NERD!!  P.S. I'm pretty sure that because of gaming my grasp of the system isn't much worse though, so it's a little like the pot calling the kettle black

I probably read it as well. My brother has several books, guides, adventures etc. from AD&D, i think it's third edition. I never reallly played much roleplaying games in real life, when at uni we played a couple of evenings with some guys from the home ("kot") i was in. That still was good old second edition, and we were stoned most of the times.  Although it was very fun, my wife still makes fun of me occassionally for being a nerd because of that. |

I played AD&D when I was in high school.... 9th and 10th grade mainly. I was never massively into it, but I definitely read several guides. I definitely read the 2nd edition player and DM guides... I know I've looked at 1st edition, but not sure if I read the whole thing or not. *shrug* I still have it somewhere, I think. And lol @ Ox calling me a NERD! AD&D players are such nerds! Now let's play Baldur's Gate.. I want to roll a mage/thief halfling. |

I don't think any of us really qualify as NERDS. Like, the hard core variety. Geeks, definitely. Nerdy, I'm sure. But we're somewhat socially adapted.
