Post subject:  Americans make Jamie Oliver cry

...because they won't have any of his healthy food. He's currently working on some show where he tries to convince the residents of the 'fattest city' of the USA (and thus world) to change their eating ways. He did similar projects before in the UK where he showed that kids can eat healthy food at lunch in school that tastes great while not paying extra.

The fact that he cried is kinda lame and as far as I'm concerned people can eat whatever they want, but this was kind of alarming to me in the article:

Jamie is also filmed with his head in his hands as he asks pupils to identify veg. Holding up a vine of tomatoes, he asks what they are – and they tell him potatoes.

And a teacher says chips count as one of the recommended five pieces of fruit and veg a day.

Jesus! I don't mind people being pigs, but don't let your children suffer from the same shit!

I'm sympathetic yet I realise that some groups of people are ignorant beyond the capacity to learn.

lol @ potato, tomato. :)

And yeah Derf, what struck me the most how their dislike from "the outsider" (Oliver) seemed to override any sort of logical thought regarding eating habits or health. Ah well. At least we've come a long way since the fifties.

Customer: Steak and doughnut sandwich please.
Waiter: You want cigarettes on that sandwich?
Customer: What do I look like, a Mary? Of course I want cigarettes!
